World coordinates and rotation (SOLVED)

I have dialed up a pose of a falling man (see attached file). Now I want to rotate him along the Y-axes. Since I during the process have rotated him somewhat along all the axes, the World Coordinates are no longer the same as the Local ones.
I am aware I can adjust the Rotation tool (no 1 in the image) with the Tool settings (no 2), but it does'nt affect the rotation decvice I normally use (no 3). The Y-rotation on no 3 is still Local.
How can I fix that?

Parent to a new null (Create menu) and rotate that is probably the simplest option.
Thanks Richard.
I suppose that answer implies there is no way to "reset" the axes to normal xyz-directions without also "resetting" the figure/object's rotation.
Thanks for asking this question, this is great information to have.
I have a followup: Are Groups and Nulls basically the same thing? Putting a character in a Group is a two-click operation, and comes with the added benefit that when you mark the group unselectable in the viewport, your wish is honored by everything inside it. So if a Group confers all the benefits of a Null and maybe more, but is easier to create in the UI, that would also be good to know.
A group has a bit mroe overhead, though as you say it does also allow affecting the visibility of multiple items. A group would certainly work here - I tend to suggest nulls as they ahve been around for longer.
No, I don't know of a way to have the sliders work in world space even if the item is off axis - other than doing the posing using the hip and then rotating using the figure (posing using the hip is best practice anyway, as it leaves the figure node free for scene placement). Threre is, I think, a script to move transforms from the figure to the hip but I don't have a link to hand.
Thanks! All of this is good to learn. "Posing using the hip is best practice" is information noobs like me can really use.
If I buy a pose of a figure that is lying down at Daz store, the rotation sliders are grey/neutral.
I can't figure out a way to create a pose with character lying down, without using/affecting the sliders.
I understand that "null" solves the problems but it is obviously possible to create what I am after since all the poses I buy at Daz store have grey/neutral sliders.
How do the pros do it?
Which sliders? A store pose should use the hip to rotate, leaving the figure node unchanged (except for poses to place a figure at a specific point in the scene, which should use the figure and not the hip).
Let me rephrase my question.
In the top entry I have a screenshot. I am referring to the x,y,x rotation sliders to the right.
How can I make a figure laying down on the ground without affecting those sliders (i.e. they are still grey/neutral)?
Yes, I meant on which node - the figure or the hip? A store pose should be using the hip's transforms for getting it to lay on the ground.
Thanks Richard! Finally got it. Took me a while to figure out I had to click on the Hip in the SCENE tab. Tried to click on the figures pelvis, which didn't help a lot...
Thanks again. I am now a better and wiser person.
