Would be nice to see G8 male tomorrow for certain. I really miss the previews that PC members used to get. They let me know when something I wanted was imminent and I would plan accordingly.
I think that's why they stopped doing that. Because people would stop buying new things in anticipation of the BIG NEW thing.
Well, I suspect something big is about to happen. Both DIM and DAZ Studio have been updated in the last couple of days.
I can understand that. The ironic thing for me is that I actually spent more when I knew what was coming.

It makes commercial sense to have a string of female characters after the initial launch because (apart from the general higher popularity of things female) all the supporting items cross polinate. Even if a new figure itself doesn't appeal to a buyer of Victoria 8, the clothing and hair probably will, etc. So those odds (along with previous experience) lean toward another female.
The key factor in favor of an early G8 Male is that it'll (almost certainly) be the G3 male with tweaks (as with G3F + tweaks = G8F). This easier and cheaper route to market might mean a faster route to market.

Any improvement besides Dynamic hair and Cloth would have to be pretty spectacular to impress me

I'm not sure if it's an error but the product page for Lukas (https://www.daz3d.com/lukas-for-genesis-3-male) shows he uses the Genesis 8 Male UV map.
Bummer but I still think he will be out this month but now they are offering the gift cards. Which is usually a sign a new figure will be out soon.
I'm holding on to my jelly beans in the belief that he's already been released, sporting a unique 'cloak of invisibility' feature (IRay only!), and that it's just a matter of finding him. I am willing to lead all the other believers who are convinced he already walks among us in the vital task of revealing his existence to the unfaithful, provided that other devotees sell all they own and send me the proceeds in untraceable notes. It's not cheap, this kind of thing :)

Interesting find. It could mean we get G8 male soon or it could be an early release error. Basically it may also be an indicator that G8 male will indeed be as backwards compatible as G8 female is. Which I think we all expect to see.
It was a mistake I think to say Lukas uses Genesis 8 Male UVs for that Genesis 3 Male product. Probably they tested the Lukas texture set with a version of the Genesis 8 Male they have to develop new products.
Oh. I had completely forgotten about that.
History and logic tells us a character will be release this month. It seems later than normal so I expect anytime maybe even Sunday but most likely Tuesday.
This gen 8 releases hasn't been as predictable as previous schedules.
Sadly, I'll be very surprised if we see G8M before the middle of November. So far, things are progressing pretty similary to previous release patterns. Now, I would LOVE to be wrong, but DAZ does seem to like its patterns.
