Problem with actual eyes 4
I'm probably doing something wrong. But whenever I tried to use acutal eyes 4 as a material. The entire eye just goes grey.
Is there something I'm missing?
This is the product I bought https://www.daz3d.com/actual-eyes-4

I do not remember clear how the product worked, but it is not iray compatible mat (or shader preset) I think.
eye surface mat is really sensitive, if it is shader preset for 3delight, ds can not auto convert them well (even though you apply iray shader, with keep texture if it used)
then if you hope to use the product as vendor planed, use 3delgiht as render.
ir you hope to render by iray, you better not struggle with to comvert it for iray, (becaues we hope to get it to easy use to make realistic eye)
but serch another shader preset, or mat preset for eye which made for iray (most of case ,shader preset for ds uber iray shader)
Thing is its not happening in the render. It's happening while i'm working on the model.
As seen here in this example

if it is problem only about texture shading (3d view), it it nost special. I often see same problem about iray product too.
texture shade only use OpenGL render, it can not show all shader effect. we need test render actually how shader and texture work correctly.
then if you hope to check how current mat will be redered for test, try spot render. then you can render around eye only,
with keep same 3d view shading. (without render all frame for test ) you can use border render tool, in tool setting tab. (Alt + shift + c) then
draw border by mouse drug to decide render frame.
may better keep perspective view (not set view as indiividual camera) as active view, when use spot render, or you need to change camera render setting.
