Repopulating Smart Content after data transfer
So I was dumb and fried my mother board and damaged my hard drive (clean out the dust regularly folks) but I was lucky enough to be able to get all data from the drive.
I finally upgraded to 4.9 and transferred my data back to the same pathway as it was before.
However, it won't repopulate the Smart Content directory. I've tried reimporting the metadata database but it didn't work. I've been able to open old projects but it can't find some objects and textures.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks.

Could be a pathing issue -the folders you have set as content directories. Where are the Runtime and Data foldrs from your back up, and what are your content directories?
So username\daz\studio\my library\data, username\daz\studio\my library\Runtime, and username\daz\studio\my library is set as a Daz Studio Format content directory and as a Poser Fomrat content directory?
Yes. (sorry for the delay, had to get home and check)
Is newly installed content showing in the database?
no its not
But you are not getting any errors about needing a PostgreSQL cionnection on launching DS? There have been a few people who have found that DS appears not to be able to access the database, or DIM appears unable to write to it - I suspect you are in their ranks. If you go to Edit>Preferences is there a CSM Settings tab? If there is, please post a screenshot.
Ok when I start Daz I get this
Here is the settings screenshot
OK, so the basic issue is that DS is not communicating with PostgreSQL - everything else flows from that. Do you have PostgreSQL installed?
That was it.
It was't installed. I installed it and reimported the databas and its all there now.
Thanks.
Now I have to convince the DIM that everything in the "ready to install" directory already has been
DIM goes by the Manifests folder, in the same folder as the default Downloads folder (Public Documents/Daz Install Manager or something like that).
