School Sports Outfits for Genesis 3 Female: Problem with swimsuits

I have the School Sports Outfits for Genesis 3 Female(s) package, SKU:45577 by PA Rarestone. This is a really nice package however, I have found a problem when exporting the swimsuits (both version A and B) to Zbrush via GoZ.

When I return the swimsuit to DS by GoZ (even without performing any actions on it) I get an error message indicating that the geometry has changed; see the attached images for the GoZ export options and the resultant error on return to DS by GoZ.

This issue does not arise with the other items in the package.

I have sent this problem to the Help Desk but they say they cannot test the problem because it involves Zbrush which they don't support. This in itself is strange as they do support GoZ, so their technicians must have Zbrush.

I don't see how the problem can be blamed on Zbrush as 1) no actions were performed in Zbrush; the item was loaded by GoZ and then immediately returned to DS by GoZ. and 2) the problem does not occur with other items in the package, or any other items from any other package for that matter!

Has anyone else had this problem with the swimsuits from this package?

Could anyone with the package and Zbrush please try sending the swimsuits to Zbrush via GoZ and then back to DS using GoZ, to see if the problem is not specific to my system.

Perhaps Rarestone, would like to comment? I really like the swimsuits but want to makes some morphs in Zbrush.

Are the outfits SubD (do they have a Mesh Resolution group in the Editor tab of the Parameters pane)? If so is the resolution set to Base?

As I showed in the first image, the item was sent to Zbrush with the GoZ options at default. This means that GoZ sends the base resolution figure, irrespective of whatever it happens to be in DS. However, just to confirm that, I set the Mesh resolution to Base and the SubD to zero and sent the swimsuit to Zbrush via GoZ first with default settings as before and then also with the option checked to use the current resolution (which was set to base). In both cases the result was the same. When I sent the swimsuit back to DS via GoZ (without taking any actions such as morphing), DS reported that the geometry had changed.

The swimsuit A and Swimsuit B are the only figures that give this error. I cannot see any other conclusion than that there is an issue with the swimsuits.

Can anyone else confirm or deny that the swimsuits are causing a problem in the movement to and from Zbrush via GoZ?

    Compare your vertex counts.

In Daz Studio, click Window -> Panel -> Scene Info.  Look at base numbers only.  Ignore active.
In ZBrush, just hover your mouse over your active tool.

If they're not the same counts, then GoZ must have dropped some vertices or faces after import, probably due to bad geometry.

In DS swimsuit A has 34887 verts and swimsuit B has 25960 verts. When transferred to Zbrush via GoZ, the swimsuits have exactly the same vert count. So no verts are lost or gained transferring the swimsuits from DS to Zbrush. However, on transfering the swimsuits back to DS by clicking "GoZ", a topology/geometry error is reported by DS as shown in the picture attached in the original post.

Does the number of quads plus the number of triangles add up to the ttoal number of polygons?

I don't use ZBrush, but I know that when exporting I have to make sure not to export other items.

For example, I have a default scene load with a plane; if I export to an .obj, the plane goes too; this throws the geometry count off by 4. I make it invisible first.

Does the exporter handle such issues?

Does GoZ transfer things like UVs and textures?

If you don't care about morphs, you could transfer it back as a static prop.  I think that would also 'sanitize' the data, so the next transfer should work without problems.

Yes, for both swimsuit A and B

GoZ can handle sending a figure with multiple items conformed to it. However, in this case the figure is loaded alone as follows:

    1) Start DS4.9  2) Load the Swimsuit.  3) Click send to Zbrush (default options.. see above discussion and image)  4) In Zbrush Load figure/tool by click and drag as normal  5) Click GoZ to send the figure back to DS  Result: Error as described above.

I'm not sure if the textures are transfered (I don't think so), but UV info is. However, it is precisely to create morphs that I am using Zbrush so exporting a static model is not a viable option.

Moreover, this issue applies only to the swimsuits not to any other item in the package, or any other item from any package.

issacNewton, If I were you, at first try to export as obj, (without using Z brush plug in), as daz default option, then re-import it by morph loader,

if ds can load it as zero moprh, , it means Z brush plug in cause problem. but if export and re-import still not work, when you export the swimsuit, something  already change.

(I suppose if it have some flying verex,,which not make poligon, just vertices,,)

Hi Kitakoredaz, Exporting the swimsuit as an object file and using this obj as a source for a null morph with Morph Loader Pro, works fine. So it does look like the swimsuit is causing a problem with the GoZ plugin.

Excuse me for asking, but regarding your nick name "Kitakoredaz", is that a play on words from "Kita Koredesu"? My Japanese language skill is almost zero.

Hi  unfotrtunately I have not bought z-brush still  then I could not test what cause problem, though I am thinking to get your costume set, after see this topic, it has thrown in my favorite thanks .  and wait daz sales,,. ( I do not know, why I miss this packageangel)

then Yes  " kitakore",  is kind of japanese net slang, "ktkr" ,  kita(  It finally have "come" to me ), +   kore ("This" what I hope to get etc) )

use when find something interesting (and excited )  ,  ( eg I finally get secret item,, or I finally solve something,, etc) .

The package is a good one, very useful. I just wished I could send it to(and get it back) from Zbrush. Thanks for info on your name... cool :)
