Create new tabs/panes for Studio

Hi!
Can anyone tell me, if it is possible to add a custom tab/pane to Studio, where I can place my own stuff?
Like the "Content Library" pane or the "Scene" pane and so on - I'd like to create my own and put things inside.
1. Is that possible?
2. If so, can it be done with scripting or do I need to go for a plugin?

It could certainly be done as a plug-in. There used (in DS3, I think) to be a plug-in that did pretty much this. In the meantime, you could turn files into Custom Actions (right-click menu) and then place them on toolbars for quick access.
That is helpful already, thank you very much. Will do it for now, but I'll look if I can set up the SDK on linux to get some plugin up and running. Would be nicer to have it as a new tab.
