PROBLEM WITH HAIR RENDER

Problems wit hair render: This problem happens even I I just render the hair alone in a new scene. It's just this flattop hair. I've tried all three choices shown, and different texttures to no avail.

It appears to me as though the hair isn't fitting properly to the character's head. Are you using autofit? Is that a custom character morph? You could try adjusting the scale under the parameters tab, by increasing the X-scale slightly, for example, and see if that solves the problem.
