Funky Look on Quills of Griffin Wings on Daz Horse?
in The Commons
I recently picked up Daz Horse 2 and the compatible Griffin Wings to "test the waters" for a potential series of both realistic and fantastic horse-related works using Iray. (Neither package seems to be "native" to Iray, but it appears that any problems in this area likely can be addressed adequately with the various add-on products we'll eventually use.)
Three problems -- illustrated by the attached image -- that I'd rather not risk potentially spending hours/days to "track down" if somebody here has already figured it out:
- The nearest-the-horse bones of the Wings appear to stick out well beyond the body of the Horse where they intersect (at least before any morphs/posing are applied).
- The Wings seem to be mounted to the Horse well behind and below the real-world shoulder joints of the Horse. (OK, it *is* a *mythical* beast, but still, it looks funky and will likely frustrate efforts to mount riders in a "realistic" way, etc.).
- And the one that *might* be more gnarly to fix: The "bone" color of the Quills (i.e., the leading edges of the Wings) appears to poke through the "feathers"/skin in something of a patchwork pattern.
Any quick fixes or approaches to offer?
Thanks in advance,
WILL

For #3 check the tiling of that surface in the Surfaces pane, it looks to me like it's not 1:1 as it should be.
Are those wings meant to conform (fit-to) the horse? It looks like they're just parented.
