I've been drooling over it too. I want to do animation at some point and iclone looks like the way to go, but I'm not ready yet. The offer is tempting though! I have not used it yet so I don't know the minimum you need to purchase to get DAZ to work, but if I remember right, the DAZ plugin comes with one of the mid range packages.
Hi
I believe the new Iclone 7 directly supports G3 rigging as it supported G1-2 in the past.
What this means is that there is now a Characterization profile for G3 built into Iclone 7
So you can make G3 Accept Imotion Data with one click instead of having to manually bone map her in 3DXchange as you must do with her FBX file In Iclones 5.5 & 6.
H
i if you can afford the upgrade to iclone 7 that is good but You canalready use G3 in Iclone 5.5 & 6&6.5
After manually Characterize your G3 FBX file you can Save the profile so you do not have to manually do it again afterwards
I have already done so and here is a link to a copy of the profile on my Google drive
you can use this in 3Dx change in earlier versions of Iclone to Get Get ready to accept Imotion Data in Iclone
This Does not help with setting up the face for lipsinc it is for body rig only.

Yes We are still running 5.5 pro & 3DX in our current film production .
we have IC 6 but are waiting to aquire better hardware before installing it.
IC 6 has quite a few improvements I beleive.
Hi You can import Daz characters into iClone 7, but you cannot import Daz characters into character creator. And only in character creator can you add the PBR shaders to a character that will get you superior rendering in iClone 7. I may be wrong, but from what I have seen I believe this is true.
Nope, In Iclone7 AFTER you import Daz3d Characters - you can apply PBR shaders or leave as standard ( Default ) Note: since daz characters ( Genesis3 and up chances are you have IRay shaders on them, which actually render very nice in iclone7. I just got the Iclone7-3DExchange Pipeline edition and I am quite impressed so far.
edited to fix quote
You can add the PBR stuff after import. I'm surprised they charge money for 3DXchange, because it only imports via FBX, which gives you a low-quality mesh, and then you have to do a lot of work fixing bugs and adding all the textures and stuff that didn't get imported. And I believe if you don't spring for the $500 pipeline version, you can't save your work except into an iClone scene, and if you have problems you may have to start the whole process over.
However, I can report that characters with geografted body parts can be made to work splendidly in iClone: I tested Minotaur HD 6 and another user tested Lekkulions for me. They were beautiful and animate fantastically if you don't put any clothes on them.
Just before buying, I moved on to adding clothing and props, and found that imported DAZ characters can't "wear" clothing they way they do in DAZ or the way Character Creator characters do in iClone. There are tremendous pokethrough issues. So far the only fixes are to edit an opacity map--make body parts invisible so nothing is seen when they poke through--or go to some other program to create a morph you can then animate to squish down the body part.
For me, I decided I didn't want these hassles. If you get the full iClone package for $500 to $800 and still have to turn to Blender, why not just go to Blender to begin with.
Hopefully in iClone 8, imported characters will really be able to wear layers of clothing. I'd buy in a heartbeat if everything just worked.
Ah, so as much as I suspected then. I think Blender will soon surpass iClone & it's addons.
As a general 3D/CG application,Blender already surpasses
Iclone.
However,as a pure realtime character motion creation ,editing, and motion data
export tool , blender does not come close to rivaling
Iclone pro with 3D exchange.
Yeah, well that's true and Blender Foundation I doubt has high on there list easing animation creation.
