Convert All Surfaces to Iray
Is there a quick way to convert all surfaces in a scene to Iray? I don't see a way to select all surfaces.
Thanks.

Select all objects in Scene pane, in Surface pane open/expand all the objects materials' lists. You can either select each material one at a time while holding the Ctrl key or select the top most material, scroll to the bottom and select the last material while holding the Shift key to also select every material in between the two.
As for apply the IrayUber shader or any shader navigate to it in the Content Library pane as having multiple objects selected often confuddles Smart Content. You will find the shader under Shader Presets instead of Shaders despite the fact that it is an actual shader and not just a preset (Duh DAZ!).
Unless you are going to adjust the settings there's no reall point in applying the shader (via a shader preset) to alls urfaces, since DS will do that at render time anyway. You will save a little time on rendering, as the conversion step won't be needed, but whether that's worth the effort is open to question.
Thanks. I imported an old scene from Carrara I think, and since everything wasn't Iray I couldn't apply all my cool Iray shader library stuff.
BTW, thanks much jestmart. Worked like a charm. Didn't know you could select multiple objects in the scene and their surfaces would all show up in the surfaces tab. DAZ did good on that
I've been wondering about that. When I got the recent fantastic, free Lee 6 bundle, I went to the trouble of creating a new preset for Yasuo with all Iray materials. Then I happened to render a test scene with an AoA Yasuo and an Iray Yasuo standing side by side, and discovered I couldn't tell any difference between them. Unless you need to add maps that apply to the new features of the Iray uber shader, I'm not sure converting to it offers any benefit in terms of the resulting image quality. Sounds like you're right that the AoA was converted to Iray anyway, behind the scenes.
'all that effort'?
Right click 'expand all'
ctr-a to select all
click on surfaces, ctrl-a to select all surfaces
double click Iray uber.
Thats probably less than a minute. I'm not sure why anyone wouldn't bother, given you can then easily fix anything weird.
Like, if you have a bunch of shiny buildings, just globally change glossy roughness to .7 or so.
What I don't like about Ctrl-A is that it truly selects Everything in the Surface pane.
I'm a Mac person but you should be able to Ctrl-A to select all and then Ctrl-click the things you don't want in seconds?
Perhaps a stupid question, but where do I find Iray uber?
Assuming you installed the basics i.e... Daz studio and Default Resources... Default Resources > Shaders > !Iray Uber Base or Content > Shader Presets > Iray > !Iray Uber Base
