Looking For Character Renders

I'm rebranding a series of book covers in the sci-fi/fantasy genre. I've considered hiring a photographer, model, and costume designer to get the exact look I'm going for, but that sounds prohibitively expensive. I'm a graphic designer by trade and I've been using stock images to do photomanipulations, but that's not going to work here. I wondered if anyone might be interested in doing some full-body character renders for me (I'll pay for the images, of course) so I can blend them with photorealistic backgrounds. I own Poser and Carrara, but I'm more of a Photoshop guy and my 3D skills are lacking. Here's essentially what I'm looking for as far as the character. Poses/angles will come later:

The main character of the books is a young male in his 20's, handsome, slender, roguish, an airship captain, and a criminal. For the costuming style, think Assassin's Creed with steampunk flair. Here's my "vision board" on Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/jaystaudt/steampunk-rogues/

Let me know if this is the wrong place to post this request, or if I'm barking up the wrong tree entirely...

    Sounds interesting....

I have this outfit. https://www.daz3d.com/dark-whisper-for-genesis-3-males Would that suits your young hero?

I have made a first test render. Only something I put together in minutes.

This is probably not an inappropriate forum to post this. But what it sounds like you are asking for is to commission someone to do cover art resources for you.

That does make sense if you are a newbie, because getting lighting to anything like a professional-looking level is not something that one picks up in a week or three of messing around with the program.

But if you are comissioning work; you *may* get some takers who just want to be helpful, but you might certainly get takers if there is some payment involved. And that discussion probably ought to be taken off-forum. As well as any discussion on what sort of products you might want to be included in these character renders.

I would suggest you ask them to PM you and check your in-box for replies.

JOdel - Yeah, I've done some landscape stuff in Carrara and messed around a little in Poser, but I'm far from being able to whip out something halfway decent the way I'm sure many of the forum regulars can. And as mentioned, I'm definitely willing and able to treat the images like stock photos and compensate their creator(s) for their use.

JUJU - I like it. Very close to what I'm looking for. If you want, PM me and we can hash out the specifics.

Others who might be interested, feel free to do so as well. I write between four and six novels a year in addition to just doing photomanips for fun, so my need for imagery is neverending...
