I wish it was beach time NOPE hard at work , maybe next weekend ..  anyway thanks you for your support ! I will drop in  later tonight

Liberty Park NYC #2 is a great one I agree, heck all the Mec4d HDRI's are great!  The most difficult part of them is actually deciding which one to use!  I'm really looking forward to the beach pack because there are so few good beach HDRI's out there (that are within my price range) and these are bound to blow me away like all the rest.  Enjoy yourself at the beach Cath and without wanting to overstep the mark here if you happen to take any swimsuit selfies while you are there I'm sure we'd all be quite happy for you to share them here as well.  wink

    Peace and love,

    Stuart

Since there's already a thread for these sets in the main forums can we keep this one to suggestions for new sets please.

  • nonesuch00nonesuch00 Posts: 18,714

OK, I suggest a set for Montauk at Sunrise or Sunset and also with a full moon, at 10, 12, 14, & 18...

I think she holding the new HDRI Tutorials lol wow for 9 hours I was walking, just returned after 11 hours and I am exhausted , it was hot today and no time for bikini at all , I can;t believe the beach was full of people at 7 am , crazy but I go in the more wild region and got fantastic shots as much as possible , then I go foTuscanyny romantic gardens and did more , made my 64 GB SD card full so it was a day as planned for me just so tired so going take a nap and will be later tonight with some preview stuff to tease you all hahaha  mission acomplished !

Thank you, talking about HDRI-Liberty Park NYC #2! and human renders and image ratios . all you need to set up the 35mm full body camera from the set and then you can change the ratio of image as you please without to worry about anything else, below example rendered in black and white (saturation to zero )

Great info Cath, i really love all of the HDRIs, but this one especially.  I think Mei posed 001 looks great, but what is that she is holding...maybe something top secret?  LOL.  I usually have the camera set at 35mm in Octane so that will be easy.  Looking forward to more HDRI!  wink

Wow, well you deserve a break after all that! LOL  Looking forward to the beach sets HDRI, and the Under the Bridge was fantastic as well!  As soon as you Recuperate, I can't wait to see some indoor HDRI.  I getting hooked on the HDRIs now!

  • Since there's already a thread for these sets in the main forums can we keep this one to suggestions for new sets please.

Richard, could you point us to the thread in the main forums?  I did a search, but maybe my search skills leave much to be desired.

    Cheers

Hmm, maybe I was confused - there is a thread on the gardens megapack https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/2605896/#Comment_2605896 . If this si going to be a more general thread on the existing sets as well as suggesting new ones it could be moved to the Commons - you could do that by editing your first post and changing the forum name.

  • MEC4DMEC4D Posts: 5,249

Richard the other thread was just a question about the promo, not a general thread so we may stay here from now on .

The last time I was in Montauk was 9 years ago when I was living in Long Island , I rolled down the hill from the lighthouse to the bottom , the grass was wet  in the early morning and the gravity toke me down, I could not breathe freely for a week as  I landed on my chest  ..  it is a beautiful spot but I will be not there early than September-October for the fall shots, without the fall this time LOL

Y'know it's funny (not you falling down a hill!  That sounds terrible!!) but I was thinking about sugesting that something you could consider for the HDRI collection could be seasonal packs as the year went on.  Like an Autumn garden with all the colours it would have or a Winter one, but once again it looks like you're way ahead of me!  LOL

Nice work , I missed this one , I like the mood too in b&w

That looks awesome and real. I've always took an interest in black and white photos myself, the same goes with films.

EDIT: Here is a render I did using the same black and white trick and the 35mm full body camera.

That's amazing!  Such a great mood captured there!

@MEC4D, I was just wondering, whatever happened to Chad for Ivan 7? I remember some discussion about him in the forum, and then he just never seemed to happen. I do understand that sometimes things just don't work out, but he did look like a great character.

Hi thanks, yes he did, but my HD got locked by windows and could not recover everything plus a lot of negativity happened last year on top of everything and I had to take a break from the community, recover, recharge so I can do better stuff now as before. Chad may be lost but better one is on the way, I invested in 3D scanner so soon you will get all real human transferred as shapes into Genesis to the last real details  not seeing before on a Genesis geometry , I made couple test it is fantastic but more about next month as it getting too hot to running around with the camera already so time for some inside job LOL with AC on full power . As you know I love to return with new stuff and unique as that give me the inspiration to do it as I hate routines. Still I want to have the biggest HDRI database so starting again shooting in late September -October

Thank you, the final one will be even better when the blue overcast is gone that take forever to get rid off as iray is so sensitive to edited HDRI and one wrong move destroy everything as you see above with the blue bleeding on the walls sometimes that need to go so another night for me tonight.

Since lighting is the bane of my existence will using the Headlamp ON create the needed extra lights in the scene (besides your white plane tip)?  So NO other lights are needed in the scene?  All these light sets I've invested in and now this may be the most simplistic way of doing it EVER!  If so I'm floored and feel like I can finally bypass any of the light sets that are offered unless they are set up like yours or similarly.  I did load one of yours yesterday and aside from the direction the render time was good and the shadows were nice.  I just don't have a good feel of how to rotate the sun to give more of an evenly lit effect for promo's.

Just wish someone would come out with something like this for 3DL as I'm still making those sorts of settings for my products and well the lighting in 3DL is horrible in comparison with having to load up lights, move them around and TRY to get things looking as good as possible.  Still not happy with all my attempts

Thank you, Ivy , that's my eye candy of the season! This ancient China houses and gardens are wonderful, 40 Chinese artists and artisans from Suzhou hand constructed the garden and pavilions. No nails or glue was used , everything is joined together using traditional Chinese construction techniques, it is a pearl! and everything there has a meaning of traditional symbolic Chinese art and literature, it was an amazing place for meditation in my raw moments. And now I can still enjoy it using my VR sitting in my brick city backyard lol and soon you will too , in creative renders or simply VR

Well you don't need any extra lighting and headlamp is just a help but don't like it in every situation as it tends to destroy the mood quickly , white plane is the way as it will do it perfectly for the special against sunlight shots as every photographer do it in real also and not just another spot light as that is not about , white plane will give you the right light tone and power of light and you work with harmony without tweaking again . There is nothing better than diffused soft light on the face. The headlamp is more of a camera flash that when over used can strap the reality of the render very quickly especially with portraits. Not to mention slowing down the full rendering process and viewport.

    +1

You have been sorely missed around here. I was beginning to get worried, until I saw your hdri's showing up in the galleries. Welcome home, Cath.
