any tips for making V4 look tired?

ToobisToobis Posts: 992

Using V4 and doing a render featuring a woman who has just woken up from bed and is in the kitchen making some coffee. I have the messy hair covered but am not really sure if there is a good way to make her face look tired. Can anyone recommend how to do this the best?

Uzing Daz4.9 by the way.

Not sure what morph packs you have...but various eye/brow settings, some puffiness...take the face diffuse into an image editor an 'burn' the highlights/midtones under the eyes a little.  A little pupil dilation...

In addition to mjc1016's suggestions, a lot of the tired effect can be accomplished with facial expressions and body language. When we get tired, our eyes droop a bit, our eyelids hang a little lower, and the corners of our mouth turn down slightly. Our shoulders slump a bit, too.

Best thing I've heard all day!

I would think a tired look is easily achievable if a user has the Morphs++ for V4. And I would think i13 or several other vendors would have expressions which could help achieve the desired look. Mjc1016 and ShaneWSmith gave you the right answers.

I see you asked the same question about a year ago: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/88956/any-tips-for-making-v4-look-tired

I'm sorry you didn't get an answer you're looking for. I would suggest using a V4 ageing morph perhaps? I don't know how to do morphs for V4 or I'd volunteer to make one for you. I just learned how to do morphs for Genesis 8 Females but don't know how for V4.

Here's a quick one made only with the V4++ morphs. No textures or shaders (except for V3Digitimes Iray shaders). Not sure why the morphs make the eyes dark but they do for some reason. I can make a preset if you want.

Apparently the eyes only get dark when using the V4 default textures, here it is with a couple of other textures:
