small ssd + another hard drive

Ok need help. Just got new computer for daz and  i have now this  standard computer with small ssd hard drive and larger normal hard drive. I installed daz on my computer using dim and installed it to that small ssd and made "my daz3d  content" file to that another larger drive  and installed everything there using dim. Ok, everything looks ok on windows files, everyhinh is in it's place, but when in daz, it cant find  files on that another hard drive or doesn't understant them correctly. It's marking them as poser files (i did file search)

my files in daz content library are as follows:

>daz studio formats 

   >daz connect              

   >my library                  (empty)

   >my daz 3d library       (1.)

    >enviroment

    >light preset

    >props

    >render preset

    >scenes

    >scripts

    >shader presets

>poser formats                    (3.)

  >my library                        (empty)

  >my daz3d library             (empty)

  >my daz3d content             (2.)     this is what there is in windows files-   d:/my daz3d content/ aniblocks, animals, and  so on... ewerything looks ok.

    >camera

    >figures

    >expressions

    >hair

    >hands

    >lights

    >materials

    >pose

    >props

other import formats

>products

>catergories

 

Sorry for those gaps. Ok my problem is this, files on that larger hard drive are some reason under poser format files (3.) and most of them daz cant find.

First "my daz 3d library" (1.) on ssd looks normal. How do i make number (2.) on that larger hard drive look the same. can i change that poser file thing look like daz file. Can i connect (1.) and (2.) so daz sees them as one. or what should i do. There is most likely very easy answer.

I have read https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/57787/moving-library-to-second-hard-drive   and im not sure if it helps or i'm too stupid to understant it.

Let's play safe and sume that's the case. I rather not make a mess and star playing with my files especially if there is easy answer to this. I did play on my older computer and i has everything double and some items even triple times and very often daz insult's me abouth this :)  but it still works. So im ok abouth mess when everyhing works.

I would be extremely grateful for any help

    the spring cleaning bug?   i just ordered a 5pack of 32gb flash drives to save animation clips.  hard part will be keeping track of whats on what.  

    there's a silver sharpie pen rights on black. 

    i need to delete all the ds3 era stuff, the data files aren't in neat subfolders. prolly still less work to delete than starting all over.

    So you have set the folder to use in DIM, but not in DS? You could run Rob's importer script to sync DS with DIM http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/referenceguide/scripting/api_reference/samples/file_io/install_manager_config_import/start - just download the script, start DS, and drag thje script file into the open viewport.

    Ok, thanks Richard Haseltine my problem seems to have been that daz didn't have right path and coundn't find the content. I'll bookmark that script might need it later.

    Easies solution was to go to Content Directory Manager in Preference and putt right path for daz. That should have been my firs procedure, im still noob, so no news there.  :)
