  I'm actually not seeing all the various options like shirt, pants and such too for G8F!

  In your case however, V4 wasn't listed as one of the compatible prior generations so load a G3F, put the V4 clothing on it, then save a wearable preset and use the Wearable Preset on G8F. I think though you need Wear Them All or a similar product from the DAZ Store to fit the V4 clothing to G3F (I have Wear the All but have two or three similar products too).

  Those options are addons. For all the figures. Usually, Genesis figures have shipped with support to autofit one of the last gen figure shapes. Just one. So when Daz markets g8 as "most backward compatible" it's actually true. Rather that one figure out of the box, it supports 5. 
  
  Also, the options, the projection templates, tend to be fairly limited, too. Again, anything else you have in the lists for G3 was an add on.
  
  Once you get an item fit to a figure that G8 does have clone for, you can immediately fit that item to G8 using that clone setting. Or at leas that worked with G3. No need to save presets or anything, unless your worried about Studio crashing. Which, I suppose is a valid concern. If you like the thing you've fit to G8 and want to save it, You would save it as Support Assets > Figure/Prop Asset(s).
  
  Using a hand made Girl 3 clone I have on Genesis, I was able to autofit a Girl 3 item to Genesis, then, right away, refit the item to G3.
  
  I wouldn't recomend doing that in that particular case. Because Genesis and Girl 3 are (ehem) very different, the shape distortion gets pretty bad. It's just Genesis was the figure I had the clone on, so that's what I used. That's the most extreme case, tho. I've done this for V3, V4 and others to get to Genesis 3. It should work for Genesis 8, too.

  If you have the product WearThemAll, then you can transfer V4 clothing to G8. @Llynara shared a trick in the wear them all thread (check the end of page 10 beginning of page 11).

  For those who don't have Wear Them All - you can load V4 clothes onto Genesis 1 then save it as a Wearable Preset. Then you can wear the clothes on G8F.

  Thanks. I think I will go through my entire old wardrobes for each generation to get them all to Genesis 8. Ulp!

  I keep hoping that someone who knows how to write these things, will come up with a batch conversion script that autofits clothing between generations and saves the wearable presets to the appropriate folders.  For example, I could select my V4 clothing folder and select a new folder under G8F Clothing, and the converter would find all of the wardrobe items for V4 and convert them as wearable presets under the G8F clothing folder.  It would do the same for all generations.  It could even do it for all generations at the same time by having check boxes to select which generation is the source, and which generations you'd like to output.

  I think it could be done if someone clever (Zev0?) would give it a try. ;)
