Just a friendly reminder- it's Camp Nano time again for all our writers! April was a bust for me, but I'm getting back on the horse and finishing my next Black Kat book in July. Who's with me? There's still some space in the cabin I'm in if anyone wants to join me. Just PM me the name you're using over there and I'll have the cabin leader send an invite.
Note: Even if you don't join a cabin, we can support each other here! Whatever you're more comfortable with.

April was a bust for me too. Need to get back into the groove... I'm in!
I was going to say that I'd sit this one out, and only concentrate on the main Nano in November, but I do need to get my next book written within a reasonable time...
You know, I have a horrible time doing Nano in November. Part of that month gets lost in holiday stuff. I wish it was at a different time of the year, which is why I like the Camp Nanos. They are more doable for me.
@TangoAlpha Yay! Just PM your name over there and I'll make sure you get an invite!
Yeah, I was pretty close to going insane last year.
But the thing, for me, is that even July is only half a month, the first half is family and business stuff that I can't reschedule. If there are empty spots in the very last minute, let me know, and I can join. I should get the first draft ready in July anyway... :)
I hear you! I'm at home with kids this summer, so I'm planning on being up super early to write. I've done it before. Just need to kick myself in the rear. LOL
Cheers Llynara, YHM
Thanks, got it!
I think things are better for me now than in April. Hopefully I can do well for the July one. My computer situation is more stable now. I need to get in and start my project asap.
I will be trying again... hopefully nothing major hits mid month (which is usually what knocks me out), though this year the 17 year old has chosen not to have a party (problem with your birthday being on the 4th of July weekend - no one is around for it.) so I'll be able to get started just fine. :)
I still can't write that fast. And a have a number of research trips this month. However, I'm nearing completion of book two of a series. I started book one last year unoficialy for CampNaNoWriMo. In the last week, I've been averaging 1000 words a day. Getting there. Best of luck to all.
Any progress is good progress, and 1000 words a day is great. When I'm really into it, I can crank out the words, but I've found higher word counts means lots of editing later, usually at a glacial pace. I can't seem to escape that. Fast or slow, as long as we keep moving forward, we'll get there.
I will be giving it a try this month.
Yay! The more, the merrier!
I'm not a writer, well, except for product description text and some truely bad poetry, but please consider me your sideline cheerleader. "Go! Go! Camp NaNo-WriMo! Type it out, beat it out! Go big words! Yaaaaay team!"
Let me know if me standing outside your cabin with pom-poms shouting encouragement is annoying you though, and I'll knock it off.
Best of luck to those participating.
Thanks, DG! We can definitely use cheerleaders!
So, how are you all doing on the first day? :)
I've started off by writing my first chapter to music (perhaps I shouldn't have watched Baby Driver this week, lol). About halfway done with that.
Edited and tweaked 7, 620 words (Prologue, Chapters 1 & 2). For me, this is an edit but also a rewrite in some major areas. I have 64k words in this manuscript, but I changed the ending of the last book, which changed the beginning of this one. Plus I've added some supporting storylines and the finale isn't completely nailed down yet. Talk about being a pantser! My people usually inform me of what's happening. I just take dictation. LOL
So there's a lot of work to be done, not all of it is from scratch though. My word counts will bounce all over the place.
Llynara,
I'm in if you've got room in your cabin.
Oh, and I made this and slapped it on my desktop for motivation. It's not perfect yet, but not bad for a promo. Hugh (pictured) will be on the book cover, with Kat behind him in pursuit. Hoping to finish the manuscript by the end of Camp Nano and get it out to the editor by mid August/early September.
Having your characters staring at you is a good way to stay focused!
Halfway done with the first chapter on day 1 sounds like good progress Tango.
Excellent inspiration Llynara. Very motivational.
*Go Team!!!*
Sorry. Must've missed this earlier. Just PM me your username over there and I'll have our cabin leader send you an invite.
@DestinysGarden Thanks! This is the book with the Elvis suit! There will definitely be pictures, LOL
What is the camp nano website url?

*Ra! Ro! Na-No-Wri-Mo!*
Whats the word count team?
I was at 7600 but lost some due to editing. I'm at 6700 now and rising. It'll go way up once the Supers bust Hugh out of prison. Then all hell breaks loose. Woohoo!
Zero because Miss Bad Wolf is procrastinating and blaming the computer for being stupid.
I'm only up to 997 words because I've had family in town for the July 4th holiday weekend. Tomorrow we've got tickets to a baseball game, afternoon BBQ, and rooftop firework at night. I'll keep those excuses coming.
Ha ha, those are great excuses! File that under "research" or "writing material." (Good grief, a lot of my comedy comes from my life!)
I hit 8k words today. Woohoo! Not sure how productive tomorrow will be though.
Trying to think of a good title.
