How to get rid of character morph saved in base genesis 8
in The Commons
I inadvertantly saved a scene containing only the Base Genesis 8 female, to which I had added one slider morph for a character. It was saved over the default Genesis 8 female. I tried reinstalling Genesis 8 female essentials, however the morph is still there, which indicates to me that the program is picking up the morph slider from somewhere (possible in the "data" folder)? I looked in there for the morph, but I cannot locate it, so I am stuck trying to find it and/or removing it.
The character was created by importing an .obj file which I had converted from a Gen 3 character.
Any thoughts on how to delete the morph so I end up with the default Genesis 3 female?
Thanks

How did you save the morph? Morph Assets?
Laurie
Morphs are in /data/GAZ 3D/Genesis 8/Female/Morphs OR in your saved .duf file. If you didn't use Save/As support asset then it's certainly in .duf
Locate it and delete manually.
I believe I saved it as a scene file.
I have looked in the ....female/morphs directory and there is nothing there.
I created the morph by using REDZ G3 to G8 conversion tutorial found here in COMMONS. After I imported the .obj file containing the morphs using the Morph Loader Pro, I then saved the result as a scene, without changing the name (stupidly)
Which name? If you saved over the default Genesis 8 Female.duf file, save under a new name (so you don't lose your work) and then uninstall and reinstall the Geneis 8 Starter Essentials
I did save over the default Genesis 8 female.
I tried reinstalling the Genesis 8 Starter Essentials but ended upp with the same morph. However, I didn't first uninstall, so I will try that.
Thank you, Richard,
I uninstalled genesis 8 Female Starter Essentials using the DAZ Install Manager. The I reinstalled. The problem morph is still there. And it exists in the Victoria 8 character that I also own.
Any other thoughts?
Thanks
I suspect you must have saved the morph as an asset file - in which case it will be in your content diectory under \Data\Daz 3D\Genesis 8\Female\morphs\author\product - where author and product will be names from the options dialogue on saving.
Unistall G8 using IM
Delete the data\Daz 3D\Genesis 8 folder.
Delete the data\Daz 3D\Genesis 8 Female Starter Essentials folder.
Do not delete any other folders. If the folders do not exist after Uninstall then don't delete anything.
Start Studio. At this point, if yo've dones something really weird, you should get an error message. You probably won't. Verify there is no Genesis 8. Just for giggles.
Close Studio. Reinstall G8 Starter Essentials.
That should fix it.
Thanks. I just figured it out. Richard nailed it - I had it saved as an asset.
