Olympia 7 plus anatomical elements - map showing lines? (no screenshot)

I can't show a screenshot obviously, but I'm curious if there is something I'm missing or not doing.

I load Olympia 7, I load the genitalia map. I put the iray mats on her, and then I put the specific genitalia ones on the genitalia. I use translucency medium on O7, and I use it on the genitalia also.

However, when rendering, you can see a distinct line marking where the gen. maps are. It doesn't smoothly blend into her skin. (Bit hard to describe without a picture).

Does anyone else have this problem? I'm not sure if I'm supposed to do something else or what.

check the greyscale maps on the gens, make sure that the gamma on the greyscales is set to '0.0'  sometimes DS flips the gamma.

( use the Image Editor inside DS )

by greyscale do you mean the base bump map?

hiya, check any/all the greyscale maps. there may be maps in Glossiness, Translucency etc etc

if any greyscale maps have gamma at '1.0' instead of '0.0' , that can cause the 'seam' to show.

thank you! I did that for the Monique 7 map, and it looks good. I'm not seeing seams/lines etc. Still no luck with the Olympia one tho - it's quite noticeable particularly in b&w.

    I would submit a ticket.

Is there a version of the torso maps for use with the Anatomical Elements, as well as the maps for the AEs themselves?

You need o compare all the maps.  I just had the same mis-match problem with the Briley texture set where in the Translucency Color map slot for main figure's skin the diffuse textures were used but the Genitalia used the specular texture map.

So this bug still exists in 4.9? I thought it has been fixed? :(
I have that problem once in a while as well. Good to know how to fix it.

That said, we really could use a wiki or something like this. There are so many good solutions for so many things around here, but good luck finding them on this forum!

The SSS Amount is 2 for the body and 1 for the Anatomical Elements.  If you change it to 2 it looks like it lessens the seam.

Not only is the SSS Amount incorrect, but the SSS reflectance tint of the gens materials also does not match the torso.

However, if you apply the hierarchical materials (Olympia 7 All Maps) with the anatomical elements already in place, the SSS reflectance tint applies correctly. For a perfect match you would still need to turn off limits on the SSS amount and set it to 2 to match the torso. (And maybe save the new material settings) This really ought to br corrected by Daz though.

It is not a bug in the program, it how the textures are saved or set up.

This isn't the only DAZ Original figure with a mismatch between the torso settings and the AE settings.  Karen 7 suffers from a similar problem.  DAZ will only fix it if someone opens a ticket and if they decide it's worth fixing.  There's a bug with Olympia 7 HD they have acknowledged in Jan 2016 but still not released a fix for.

Yeah, I submitted a ticket about Bethany 7's eye close morphs many months ago, but never received a reply. Perhaps complaints need to reach critical mass to be addressed? If Daz can't be bothered replying or fixing these issues, then I can't be bothered reporting them.
