Hello,

I was working on a scene (that i have saved) and i went to render it in Iray to see how it was looking and studio "encountered a fatal error" and wanted to shut down.  I pressed the "Save" button to try to save the new adjustments i had made but studio came back and said that the file could not be saved.  So i went ahead and closed studio and went to reopen the file from the last save point, only the file would not show up in my scenes folder.  I looked around and the file is there but it is a ".duf.temp" ending to it.  I clicked on the file and said to open with studio and was told "No importer for the file format can be found"

Is there a way I can recover my file or should i just try to remake it?

Thank you for the help.

If you change the extension back to .duf does it open?

Does not seem to change the file type when i take off the '.tmp"  or use ".duf.duf"  Properties list it as Tmp file either way and daz says the same thing.

Is the operating system set to hide the extensions of known file types?

Thank you Fixmypcmike and Richard.  Seems it wasn't showing the extensions completely.  I set it to show them and was able to change it to .duff and it is now working.  In fact, it did save the new changes to my scene even though it said it did not.  Thank You again.
