Sorrow Hair problem

I'm having a strange problem with the Sorrow Hair  ( https://www.daz3d.com/sorrow-hair-for-genesis-3-female-s )

When I load the hair it looks OK when rendered, but when I apply the Iray textures there is some kind of strange light effect on the left side of the hair on some. I imagine it affects them all, it's just more visible on some, for some reason. There is a subfolder in the Iray textures folder with the same textures, but with "Backscattering", they seem to look identical when rendered. Not sure what Backcattering means in a 3D context, but I suspect it may be the Backscattering effect causing this, and that the textures have been mixed up so they all have this Backscatter effect. Any ideas?

Is there a light behind the hair, with Render Emitter off?

No lights at all, just the DS default Iray setup, with Dome Rotation set to 90. Camera Headlamp turned off.

I think an ivisible dome would be the same as a light with Render Emitter off - when there are semi-opaque pixels, as there are in the hair, the invisible light source can be rendered.

I think an ivisible dome would be the same as a light with Render Emitter off - when there are semi-opaque pixels, as there are in the hair, the invisible light source can be rendered.

As far as I can see from the shadows, with Dome Rotation set to 85 the sun will point straight at the figure (in zero position). If I render in that position, both sides of the hair are affected (expected symmetri). If I rotate the scene 180 degrees, so the figure is looking at the sun, and render, there is no reflection. So as far as I can see it's the sun that's being reflected in the hair.

But my point was really why there is this reflection at all. Like I said, there is a default Iray texture set, and a subfolder with "Backscatter (MDL)" Iray textures. It would make sense that the Backscatter set has this reflection property, and the other not, but both sets appear to have it. Which makes me suspect that they are identical - that the Backscatter set has accidently been duplicated.

I've done a file compare of the preset for an Iray texture and the corresponding Iray Backscatter preset, except for the marked text they appear to be 100% identical. Doesn't look right to me?

Yes. Think I'll file a bug report.

    Thanks!
