Anyone using the billboard plugin and its addons?

I feel like a dummy, I've got this product but can't quite figure out how to use it. I can make the node but apparently it doesn't have smart content enabled to see the addons and while I can manually find them, getting them to work with the product seems to be beyond me. You'd never believe I have a comp-sci degree by how stumped I am with this product!

No I didn't buy it because the module I wanted was outside of my price range. Looks coo though.
You do? Hmmm...can you walk me through how you're using it?
For me, the billboard plugin, and the nodes appear in the content library. To use the product you just click the billboard you want to use. (say the fire one), and it will pop into the viewport. Nothing else seems to be required. IT stays aligned to the camera at all times.
One fun thing is to parent two characters to the billboard, make the billboard invisible, and rotate the camera to see how the light plays across the scene as the angle of the HDRI changes.
