Lookin' for a frumpy dress

You know, the kind an older lady in her fifties or early sixties would wear. Nothing too elegant, maybe a tiny bit behind the times, the kind of dress she'd wear out shopping or something. There's nothing in my runtime that really works even after playing with shaders and morphs. It's for a Genesis 2 female. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Bob

    Suggestions:

    G2F dresses:
Uniform Dress for Genesis 2 Female(s) modest dress with length adjustments. I own the G3F version. DogZ products are top notch.
Memories of Summer for Genesis 2 Female(s) is kind of a shapeless muumuu style like many older/heavier women may wear. The poofed sleeves are a little juvenile, though and it is a little short.
LNA Basic Wear Mallorca Outfit is a simple style, but few older women wear sleeveless dresses. Maybe put a sweater or jacket over it. Again it is a little short.

    Genesis dresses to autofit:
Everyday 1950 for Genesis Female longer skirt, shirt and sweater - very conservative and body covering.
Day Dreamer for Genesis modest top and skirt, still short.

Please.  some ladies in their 50s and early 60s  would be very upset to be called frumpy and behind the times

You may have some autofit issues, but smoothing should help somewhat.

    Bought and installed. Works great.

They're called retired supermodels. The gal I'm modeling is meant to look that way. Think about someone from small town America who hasn't updated her warddrobe in a decade or so. Frumpy would work.

Well I live in a small village in semi rural Wales UK, am somewhat past your age estimate and currently browsing to find some new tops for the Summer, definitely not frumpy ones.

Have this one on my wish list

I bought that shirt (or almost identical to it) in teal green.  Rocking it with skinny jeans in my middle age. :D

The thing to remeber is that the 50-something woman of today (even in small town America.  I have family there) came of age in the 70's, so that's going to be her "base line" style, not something out of the 50's or 40's.  My mom (70's) prefers jeans and button down shirts or t-shirts, as opposed to dresses.  She'll wear dresses, sure, to church.  Not out shopping.  (Granted, she lives in farm country and teaches horseback riding as well as still working occasionally as a foal monitor at large horse farms.)

I don't know many  women who still wear dresses. Thank god I don't have to. Gawdawful things. I'm nearly in the age mentioned. Most women in their 40s and fifties where I live wear  pants.

Personally, I wouldn't be caught dead in a dress, but then I always was a bit of a tomboy ;). To the OP: DO check out Wendy Wilmap's site as Charlie Judge suggested above...good stuff and some of it is clothes from past decades. You might find exactly what you're looking for there :).

I always enjoy seeing a woman in a 'frumpy dress' as they look very nice. They are impractical in some situations though, but then that's true of all clothing. We have a lot of Amish and Mennonites around here so occasionally, on I see them when they come out on their weekly shopping trip wearing clothing they made themselves from pattern styles 100 years old or more. The men, too, some of them, although men's styles change infrequently enough to were they can buy some of it via catalogue. Myself I bought traditional farm clothing to were because the regular stylish clothing is such poor quality, fading and/or pilling after only a few launders.
