Thats weird!
I ran it just before I uploaded it! Testning now. Hmm works.
Whch version of DAZ Studio are you running? According to the docs and what I heard on APIS not in the docs is that 4.8 should work.
Barbult, no I installed with DIM.
Totte, I'm running Studio 4.9.2.70 Pro 64-bit on Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. I believe everything is installed to the default directories. As I mentioned before, I mainly use Cinema4D and this was really gonna save me a lot of time. I have to recreate instancing in C4D as best as I can and can't do anything with products using Ultra Scatter. Thanks for all of your help.
Mike
Totte, did you test the script on a clean system after the script was installed by Daz Connect (rather than DIM or manual installation)? Some script products work perfectly for me with Daz Connect installation, like ones from V3Digitimes. Other script products fail, like the latest UltraScatter update. I don't own this one of yours to try it.
The error says that DzNode.duplicate() function does not exist (which is would say of it wasn't available in the API.
I tossed a question DAZ devs on this, as it's unclear which version .duolicate() exists in (as it's lacking from the official docs as so much esle), but everything else I use is 4.8 so that why I set 4.8 as minimum version. I think there is a newer release of DS 4.9 out. 4.9.3.166 is the current stable\general release.
I don't think that would matter but that's the version I've used for development, but I know DzNode.duplicate() is exported in that build,
Nope, but it doesn't load any resources except one subdirectory and the error is much more specific (DzNode.duplicate() is undefined (nort a fucntion) which makes me think it's for some reason not exported in that build (and as it's not in the docs, but posted by Rob in the script forum, it's not really documented from whcih release it's available). I hope I get an answer about that on monday.
I hadn't seen Mike K's response about using DIM when I asked if you tested with Daz Connect. I guess this problem is not the same kind of thing I got with UltraScatter.
I will test when back from Isengard ;-) (now that will make folks wonder....)
OK, I was just informed that DzNode.duplicate() first arrived in DS 4.9.3.80. I will need to issue an update and store info, sorry for that.
OK, update to 1.0.2 submitted that will check if the running DAZ Studio version is 4.9.3.80 or better.
thank you, it now works on Winter Castle and hopefully anything else with instances I need to export.
Great to hear!
I'm very fond of this script, but I've noticed that my nodes get scattered all over the place when I export to FBX. Is there a method to lock everything into position so that doesn't happen?
Thanks in advance!
somebody has a sense of humour
you were right BTW
I am still trying to solve my conundrum though
it is Protozoan's Colosseum, I only need a fully populated quarter as can actually instance and resize negatively in my target softwares, this set has an awful lot of instances!
heh - I try to do things like that in all my scripts, makes the fun to use ;-)
