Is this the powerage product at 'rosity? From memory the base adds a geoshell with just the upper torso area set as visible. The style then adds further visibilty options via tranparencys maps, then you add the colour.. One thing leaps to mind - ensure you have the geoshell selected NOT the base G3F figure.
A Geometry Shell is a "live copy" of the basic model which can have different materials. I don't have this product but if you click the triangle next to the figure name in the Scene pane you should see the hip and the Geometry Shell as the children - just click on the shell to select it, then apply the presets.
