Dance of Kali (Anyone know what this is? ) + Link Gear + Poser
This product:
https://www.daz3d.com/dance-of-kali
Is it JUST POSES?
Or do I get the female figure AND the headress?
I assume the blue skin is something I have to do myself...
And are the skin-inks/tats included on the figure (if there is one)?
--------------------
Also, do these items work in Daz (iray rendering engine and such)?

AND...and...last time I looked at these products, it was a no-go for daz because it needs Poser's rendering engine.
Now, it says Daz Studio 4.9 compatible.
So I *should be okay getting this now.....shouldn't I?

Comments
It's just the poses. I bought it thinking it included the outfit and was quite disapointed. That outfit from what I've been able to find is one that never came over when the rest of the RDNA stuff did, so it's no longer available anywhere.
So where is the 4 arm figure?????!!!!!!!!
I've never seen her anywhere but that one particular picture, and looking at the shoulder, I think the extra arms were photoshopped in. I could be wrong though, it does happen. From time to time. Occasionally. Like, only once every few minutes. :D
that does look interesting. Looking at the promos only the main pic shows the six armed Kali the rest being a normal female. Nothing said about textures so those bindi tattoos are probably another product. Looks like full body poses with the option to swap different top arm poses. That pz2 file may be a body morph? for the normal looking figure? Down the bottom it says the download contains 1 poser core installer though like you say it says up top works daz 4.9- some poser content can be used in poser and vice versa true but think it takes a bit of work wont appear in your smart content menu it'd be in the cotent library section in mine I can see a sub menu called Poser Formats
hopefully others can enlighten you more on this has me interested in a lot of other products that have made the move over here that are listed as poser but have been reclassified too
probably done the extra arms by having extra vickys merged to one and parts hidden very common thing to do
I have all of those products. The Dance of Kali is just the poses. I got it to go with the Kali bundle that didn't come over from RDNA. The extra arms are cool- and it is probably photoshop or multiple Vickies.
Linkgear and Qabbalah should work in DAZ. For Iray, you'll probably have to put uber base on them. If I have time, I can break them out and do some renders. Busy day today.
You 'da bess..
The link Gear I have been dreaming about for months.
As others have said, Dance of Kali is a pose set - and a fun one at that. Lots of partial poses. Very good not only for simulating Southeast Indian idol poses but also bellydancing. I've used it for a while in my renders.
No, you don't get the skin or the headdress or the blue skin, and the lead promo is photoshopped. That was typical for RDNA. I bought this pose set back when RDNA was still hosting it, and the fact that this was just a pose set was much much clearer on the original host site. It's often confusing to see the old promo art from RDNA over on DAZ, because DAZ usually follows a WYSIWYG policy on their promos.
With the link gear it does say that part of it is still Poser only. It is not the render engine that is the reason, it is the cloth room. Some part of Link gear is Poser Dynamics.
It's probably the dynamic cape. The suit looks like it would work. I'm downloading it now.
The Quabbalah works but the textures will probably need quite a bit of tweaking to work in DS especially Iray, I haven't used it for a while but I do remember having to do quite a bit of work for it in 3dl. I don't have the texture add on so don't know about that.
As Chohole says the cloaks won't work in DS without the plugins that get Poser dynamics working in DS.
Also I'm not sure if the suits aren't using Poser procedural mats those won't work either.
Everything loads fine, but of course the cape isn't going to pose because it's dynamic. I have to run some errands but can play with it more later. Here's a quickie render of the M4 suit and cape in Iray with uber base on it. It has a nice organic look to it. I forgot to run Anagenesis on M4, so he's a bit ghostly looking here, LOL. I'll try to do V4 Link Gear and Qabbalah later today. (Click for bigger pic)
Would probably have to tinker with the cape materials to get it to show up right.
Note: The Arki texture files for the M4 suit installed to the wrong place. I'll open up a ticket about that as well as another Arki item I have that did the same thing. The files are all there, just not where they're supposed to be.
I've just checked this is a render of the skeleton and cords in Iray out of the box, not that bad, the legs and arms of the skeleton don't come with the pack you linked to they come with the clothing set.
And because I can't leave well enough alone, here's the black MAT with an Anagenesis M4 and some emission added to all the surfaces that say "pipes". I just added the green color of the pipes to custom colors, then used that as the emission color. You could do the same with the blue piping. Could also turn the glossiness down so it's not so plasticky. There are lots of surfaces to play with on these suits. Very nice design! Now I've gotta go. LOL. (Would rather play all day with DAZ)
Awesome awesome awesome. I have a strange sense of deja vu like I've made threads and obsessed on these products before. Weird.
Thanks. Locking in on theses for sure.
Here's Link Gear on V4. Added a bit of emission to the orange pipes. More tomorrow, I'm beat.
So here is the Qabbalah outfit on the Aerandiel figure from that Qabbalah bundle. I downloaded the Zacchiel figure and will do her next. Click on the pic for a much larger one, then zoom in for details. Her nails, tattoos and skin are very cool.
Notes:
This is Aerendial as well. Not much tweaking required. I do think I used Anagenessis on it. I generally have very few issues converting Arki's stuff over to Iray.
Nice closeup!
Here's Zacchial in the Qabbalah suit, wings, and pasties. I checked the promos vs the suit in DAZ and the outfit definitely does NOT cover the nipples. Looks like coverings were photoshopped in, though there is a dress that seems to cover things, but it's pretty filmy in DAZ. (Click for large pics, zoom in for more detail.)
Here's Aerandial in the dress and some different mats for the wings and skeleton parts. Lots of material adjustments are needed to get these working right in DAZ. I just threw Uber over them here. I think they could look much better with some work. The wing membranes and dress are dynamic for Poser. Not sure you can get them working correctly in DAZ, perhaps with VWD, but I don't have that yet. This really is a HUGE set with a ton of different mats and options. Very nice, but hard to figure out how it goes together and how to make it look right in DAZ. More experimentation is needed.
OMG. Some of this needs to go in the gallery, but that has me thinking -
about a USER generated Read Me. I'm going to have to either save this page under "Resources" in my browser or under my Daz troubleshooting header. - Cause when I go to work with these, I will desperately need all the notes created (by you wonderful guys) today.
I already have my own document with all my trobleshooting, tips and tricks and work-a-rounds....I might need one now for the products themselves.
Like, how do I save and catalog all this information? Daz, daz, daz....
Evernote is great for taking notes, and there's a free version. But as a writer, it's a great investment. I think I pay $35 a year. You can create as many notebooks as you like. You can "stack" the notebooks too (I have stacks for my Black Kat and Calpernica series- each book gets a notebook.) You can clip articles from the web, save and annotate pictures, add audio notes. So many ways to use that program, and you can sync the notes across all your devices. I have a notebook for 3D that I clip things to, but I'm starting to need a notebook for each program at this point, because I'm using quite a few. Easy way to make your own custom "manual" with pictures, screenshots, clippings, etc.
