Sanctum Art's Phenotypes... MIA?

Sanctum Art's gone belly up for quite some time now.
They created some impressive monsters in the past; I was lucky to have gotten some of them when I could, but just when I want to get a fearsome beast for a pic idea... namely the Alpha... I can no longer get what I want anymore. :/
Maybe I'm looking in the wrong areas and the Phenotypes are lurking the internets... if so, is there anywhere I can find these monsters or are they gone for good? :/

I think they're gone for good.
He used to sell his Poser models from his own store, but it shut down awhile ago.
He has a very successful career now in the gaming industry, and doesn't have time for Poser any more.
So that's what happened to him. Well, more power to him in becoming a success in gaming, but the least he could do is keep his Poser models available to the public rather than shut everything down with no hope to procure them.
I seem to recall hearing that he did many of the models for "Gears of War."
It is too bad that he didn't keep his Poser models available, but it's not like there's no work involved. If people buy your models, they expect tech support. And someone had to maintain the store at his web site.
There's a lot more money to be made in the gaming industry, so you really can't blame him for turning his talents there.
I wish i had gotten Horde before it was gone. from what i have seen so far, it was the most convincing looking werewolf model IMO. I have Alpha and use it often in projects
I have the Scythe, Shrieker, Havoc, and the Horde; in regards to the Horde it makes a very frightening Beast of Bray Road for my ongoing series, "Pagan, the Louisiana Cat-Girl."
I guess I should count myself lucky I have these four Phenotypes; while very impressive they were also very pricy, though worth the money for the detail they had.
I think he got disgusted with all of the piracy of his content, which is an unfortunate consequence of being very popular. Anyway, I think he had stopped running his store long before it went away. Probably just didn't have time.
can't blame him. I turn down more and more projects for this very reason. Spent 4 months on a commercial group project (another community) only to find it on the torrent sites the day after release in Dec.

That really sucks!
Hush - piracy is not to be discussed in DAZ forum, or the thread might be deleted. Happened to other threads already... :shut: It is against forum rules to even mention it (even if you just complain about it).
old thread
Unless you wanted them just fun the models couldn't be used commercially anyway.
I loved his work, wish there was a way to contact him and see if we we could grab some from him!! :(
Which one is that on left?
not Sanctum figure, is genesis heavily modified.
sorry for the late reply.
Why is that?
If you really need a response to a response to a post that was made well over 2 years ago, then I will say this. The member is incorrect. Piracy is often mentioned in the forums, and indeed we have had entire threads dedicated to it. What is not allowed is to post links to Warez sites, for obvious reasons, nor to name sites and accuse them of being such because we can not allow accusations of this kind without there being proof of guilt, as this sort of post can leave Daz 3D and the poster at risk of legal action, strange as it may seem.
Its against unofficial forum policy to discuss legalease - I've had a post removed for this in the past and that was the reason I was given. So perhaps when people have discussed piracy on the forum in the past some posts or threads might have been removed for getting too technical with the legal jargon?
I posted a while back that I was having no luck finding anything online except illegal copies of a product and was wishing someone could track down a legit version.
That post was deleted for referencing piracy. Note that I didn't mention any specific site or anything, and I was condemning the fact, not suggesting people break the law.
But I have no idea how they draw that line. For all I know, this post will be removed for the same reason.
It actually depends very much on how the post is worded. If it's a situation where someone could actually be informed about the existance of pirated copies of legit content, then it could inspire them to go and look for them, whereas if they hadn't seen the post then they wouldn't think to do so. It may surprise you to know that there are still people who do not realise that there are these sort of sites. DAZ 3D has a zero tolerance policy against all warez and has a copyright abuse dept which deals with anything which is DAZ 3D related in this area. This is one reason why posts are removed and you will then often be asked in the email that is sent to report, using this dept as the relevant one, rather than discussing the issue in the forums. So general discussion is allowed but no specifics, if you can understand what I am trying to say.
I realize I'm quoting a very old post, but I have a question about this. I purchased RD Phenotypes 002-Havoc plus the expansion here at DAZ. I thought they were PC products so doesn't that mean that DAZ bought them outright from SA? Am I not allowed to used them in commercial renders and similar projects as long as the product and it's textures can't be extracted for use by others? Appreciate any help on this.
if you bought from daz you are good.
That's what I figured, but I just wanted to make sure. Thank you for the reply, larsmidnatt.
For what I remember, the only SA product that was purchased by the PC was a sort of 3D light/hologram console, sort of like the navigation chart in Prometheus but far earlier. None of the phenotypes were ever DAZ Originals/PC items except when erroneously marked so for a few hours when there was a mistake in the store set-up, and this was WAY back before we had the new store, so we're talking at least 5 years ago or more. He was informed and things were settled. Around the same time Stonemason also had a similar situation, for similar reasons, with his fishies of the deep product (sorry, can't remember the name, they were the guys with the bumpy skin and the lightbulb-style apendage on the head), it was also offered for a handful of hours for $1.99 and people thought they were suddenly a PC product. They weren't, and they returned to the standard price as soon as DAZ was notified. But DAZO or PA product, the EULA for products remains the same.
SA didn't allow his models purchased from his store to be used commercially at all, but I don't remember any such limitations on items purchased from DAZ except for the usual (no redistribution, no usage of the mesh in games, etc), although I do seem to remember he agressively pursued people using them on images if he thought there was a risk of commercial use.
The Hologrram and it's textures were PC items. All of SA's other products were PA products. The read me that was part of the installer should clearly state if the product has a non-commercial clause. I don't know if Zen Desk can help you but you if you can't find the read me or are in doubt, they might be able to give you the information.
I used his images commercially and his lawyers contacted the agency that was selling them and demanded that the renders be taken down, which they did. If you read his EULA it is (or was) very ambiguous. I understood it to mean the characters must never be incorporated into a trademark or logo, which was not what these images were being used for, but I was wrong. DO NOT use these models for ANY commercial purposes, he has lawyers and they will come after you. I deleted all of his models from my runtime. I consider the money I spent on them to be wasted. He could be selling the greatest models this world has ever seen and I wouldn't buy them, even if they were dirt cheap and I wanted them for personal use only.
Wow! That's insane. Would never buy stuff if I knew in advance it could not be used commercially That's awful you had that experience
hm I didn't realize any daz sold products didn't allow for commercial use. Only that former playmate figure from V3. That is tragic.
The models were purchased from Content Paradise.
oooh that helps, thanks for clarifying.
Well, if in some way, for the dudes not having the full set of figures feeling like "missing something" esque, let me tell you something...
I-rarely-use-them...they have a ton of bones(rigging) like an XNA Lara Character!!
