Daz Website - 502 Bad Gateway Error

For several days I've been getting Error 502 Bad Gateway when trying to use the Daz website. Is this a known problem that is being worked on? I don't get it with any other site. The error says that the problem is with Daz, not my network or Cloudflare.

Clodflare error.  It does happen from time to time, is usually shortlived,  and sometimes can be interrupted, If you think it is taking a bit too long to boot  up try hitting the back button and starting again.

I've been seeing that too but with a different Cloudflare location ( I think Atlanta). I most often see it when going to the forums from purchasing something in the store.

I haven't noticed this through the Frankfurt and London servers.

I have been getting a few from the London server.   I appear to be on the cusp of 2 cloud servers but do mostly get the London one.  Just occasionally it will log in to Manchester.

I have been getting the issue as Charlie Judge described it for a couple of days - I did send in an email earlier, and I've linked this conversation now.

The error message says it is not a Cloudflare error. It says it is a host (Daz) error.

I've been getting these for about a week  & That is what it says on my end as well thats its a daz server timing out. maybe this could be a reason why I can never post any images to the site

when I got this message today I was going from the shopping cart to check out i was not even in the forums that I was aware of anyway. But I also get a lot of "I am not allowed to upload this type file"  messages as well when trying to upload images  .. wierd !

As I understand it CloudFlare should show a mirror of the DAZ site when the DAZ servers fail, so I'd say it's a CloudFlare error (though CloudFlare may disagree...). I don't really see the point in using CloudFlare if all it does is saying the DAZ site is down - anyone can see that when it happens.

That's a good point. I was simply reporting what the error message says.

I get these pretty frequently when I try to view the DAZ site from work.  Weirdly if I am getting this message, I can just open up an incognito window (using Chrome) and go back to the site in that window and it goes away.  I don't know why that fixes it, but it always does unless the site is actually down, which is pretty rare.

It got this twice yesterday. Didn't last very long either time tho.

For me, it has nothing to do with purchasing and then going to the forums. I can boot up my computer, open email, click on a forum message link and get the 502 error immediately.

got it several times for the past few days as well.

This is getting really, really bad. Just now it took me over 10 minutes trying to get back to the forums from the store.

I sure hope DAZ can do something to fix it.

We have reported this  (several  times).  It has been cured several times and then started again.  The floor of the web teccies room is full of loose hair.

I see it fairly frequently, but I've seen it more times this morning than all the times I've seen it during the rest of this month put together. Something's up somewhere. Or down!

  • Ah, so it wasn't just me that was having problems...

More like that Josh Crockett's Vorpal Bunny got loose and ate the hamsters...

I've been getting the same message (as the graphic above) occasionally for the last several days. It doesn't last long, a few minutes at the very most. I should note that it gives me the option to view a mirrorred version, or to reload the page to try again. I figure either the Daz servers are getting slammed (actual use, DOS attacks, hamster retirement...) or there is something going on with the server gateways in Utah. Either way its very short lived.

Just got it twice in a row ten minutes ago. Exactly like the screenshot above, except it was a standard 502 error message, not the custom server-side page I usually get with Cloudflare details.

FWIW I got into the forum thread from another link, and the post from the dud link is there. No other problems since then (fingers crossed).

Yay, the forums are back, finally. I was getting the error too for a while there.

I just got back into the forums after almost two hours of getting the error.

I hit some servers with a fairly large stick. I think it fixed them, some of us were lucky and were on a server that wasn't ever showing any errors (like me), some of us weren't so lucky and were stuck on the sometimes-errored forum server.

Let me know if you continue seeing problems.

Is this what's known as a "Cloud Fart"? devil

I was hoping they were going to change the forums for the better like not logging us out every day and other annoyances.  Darn!

    Probably.

..kept getting it last night, then it persisted this morning into the afternoon here.  Finally cleared up about 40 min ago.  Made me feel that the forums were probably taken down for some kind of maintenance.

Been getting it almost constantly since yesterday, very annoying.

This has changed tonight, but now it seems to work fine again.
