New installation, different serial number...no content library?

I have just got a new PC and wanted to migrate my files over, but when I set up the content settings to point to the drives from the old HDD I get nothing. I noticed that when installed the new DAZ studio on the new PC that it wouldn't allow me to change the serial number (I have two in my account for some reason) and now I am fearing the worst of having to install everything all over again.

Can anybody shed any light on this? Thanks in advance

Serial shouldn't be an issue. Are you looking in Smart Content, or in one of the Content Library lists? If the latter, which?

in the smart content its showing all my products, but they aren't installed. in the content library it shows nothing and so it doesnt seem to be finding the things in my folders. Could there be a break between the cms and my settings? do i need to restart it or something? ?

oh, it appeared that the list of files was minimized so i couldn't see anything because I wasn't looking anywhere. now i just need to figure out how to get the smart content area sorted

I'm holding off reinstall as in total I need to download 44GB of awesomness. I don't think my ISP will be pleased with me!

Are you sure you have the correct settings for your content directories, and that the content is in the correct locations? Edit>Preferences>Content tab>Content Directory Manager will let you get the list of current directories, in which you should have the Data, Runtime, and other folders from your previous system.

I believe so. In the previous screenshot I have the Connect Data set to the old hard drive folder F:\DAZ3D\My DAZ Connect Library - As far as I am aware (and I'll check when I get home from work) there was a folder in there called data. If I've changed that path over from the default one do I need to clear the database or something to get rid of any references to it?

DS 4.9 uses relative paths in the database so as long as you point to the location of the Data folder you should eb fine - assuming you have copied the database across.

it appears to be finding the files once I install them instead of being instantly available. A slight inconvenience but hopefully will be ok in the end
