Iso free data recovery software.  I might have deleted something very important on my computer.

    I've used the above software before to do exactly what you need it for. It's for Windows. You didn't specify.

    I am still not finding the files I lost.

    This has worked well for me:

    In case you don't know already, if the lost files are on the system drive, there is a risk that they have been overwritten, unfortunately. If they're on another drive, don't do anything with the files on that drive and stop any processes/programs that may write to it to avoid overwriting the lost files.

    Taozen is correct.  Make sure nothing is getting written to the drive it was lost from

    Also, recovery software will always want you to restore the file to a different drive
