Does anyone know if this is any good?  Its a free download today but I am completely unfamiliar with animation although at some point I would like to give it a try.

  • If you can get it and 3DXchange in a bundle, go for it. While I haven't done much with it, it seems to be a decent tool once you learn how it works.

There are folks who really like it. I'm a hold out due to I never have the money for it when it's on sale. But here is a link to other sections here on it: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/60291/animate-daz-with-iclone-6-reference-guide

Here is the download page.  Don't know if its the most current version but hey, free is free lol.

Not the current version, iClone 5.51 from one of the German software sites. They offered it back in December as well. It isn't bad, I used to have v3 years ago.

  • Version 7 is coming out soon with some new features.

I might give it a go but looks like hit and miss on windows 10 and not officially supported for it (mixed people saying it either works flawlessly or just doesn't start!) but I guess its a freebie, worth trying LOL

Yes.  I just signed up for it but am having issues with the serial number they sent me.  Have a support ticket open and a request on the forums.

I'll be installing it tonight. Not sure what that version is capable of but can't hurt to try.

Be aware that until v7 + the 3dXchange Pipeline there is no motion graph editor in iClone.  It is effectively animate2 + the standard DAZ timeline.  You can use canned animation sequences and keyframe between poses but there is no fine tuning or intermediate changes in motions graphically.

That's okay, I got it mostly to see if I am even really interwsted in animation or not lol. I figured for free I might as well. I did get the serial number sorted so its at least downloaded.  I also managed to get Windows 7 on my PC when I bought it a couple years ago so I don't have any issues with windows 10.

  • I downloade it from there and went regester which I was already regestered from some other products they have and where it gave me my number it had links to download it from there plus some extras so I redownloaded it from there had little problem from the other getting it to start install

I had to open a support ticket for the serial number too. That was a huge bummer. I haven't checked on it yet.
