Funny this is pretty much the guitar I have. It's not a normal Jaguar but one with two humbuckers which is uncommon. This here:

The photography of Kurt Cobain is a nice tribute. The Jaguar was Kurt's favorite guitar.

About guitar poses, I usually make my own one by memory or at least from photography of real guitarists. It's easier than you might think.

The hardest part is to ajust the damn guitar strap. And I don't even talk about the cable that connect the guitar to the amplifier.laugh

Per petual E minor shape but moved all over the neck? I always find myself trying to visually pickout the chords.

Yeah this is actually the Cobain signature guitar made to look like the one he had, banged up and all. It comes as pictured with the booklet showing one of their first shows where he used it.

Not that I cared much, I just wanted the Humbuckers. :)

Well, I'm not a musician myself, so the poses are quite approximative but I want them to look as credible as possible. Sometimes I send a render to a friend of mine who plays guitar and ask him how far the pose is realistic. Most of the time, he says it is. But maybe he has pity on me and doesn't want to upset me. You know, artist sensibility, whinning, crying fit and all that stuff.laugh

I read a review of this Jaguar from a french musician with a sample included.  The sound is really familiar for those who have the Nevermind album.

So I got home and loaded it back into the scene I was working on last night. While there is a pose with the character holding the guitar, it is not technically holding the guitar. The guitar and amp are a separate pose that loads them in parented to the figure, (appears to parent to the figures hip?) but not directly to either hand.

So technically yes, the guitar parents to the figure when you load that playing pose, but basically if you want to have the figure holding it in a different playing position, you have to manually move the guitar into position.

Now that I have it in the scene (and to be fair, it does look MUCH better than the old V4 era guitar) I'm going to use it, but I really wish the parenting had been handled better.

    Boris Vallejo would be pleased.

    nice composition!
