Otoy (Octane Render) forum signup impossible

I can't believe there are any members there if it is as hard to sign up as what I've just experienced.  I can't do it.  It's giving me the run around.  I've never signed up for any forum and had this much trouble.  This alone is enough to make me walk away from even thinking about this product.  I have the demo for Carrara but don't see features that I think should be there such as "Octane Spot Lights".  Dudes I just had to vent somewhere...

    It is frustrating...i remember having that trouble. the store and the forum use different sign ins i think...i am pretty sure you have to register twice, once at each point. Or it is something convoluted like that. It made me decide to stick with iray and leave my untouched octane v1 license un-upgraded. Lux/reality look good to me, simply for that reason! But really, iray has been good enough. Look at those alien renders in the PA products thread...iray is serious business.

    I figured it out, but it was ridiculous.  I swear Programmers need training in simplification and communication.

    Yeah I will be using it too.  I am going to build a GPU render monster with 3 GTX 1080s (I need to have my head examined for the amount of $ I'm spending), which will be blistering fast I think.  I just wanted to compare.  I'm having a hard time baselining between DS and Carrara.  Eventually I will post the 3DL and Iray baseline I came up with using "A Curious Hallway" with 12 lights.  Can't use it in Carrara because the textures are messed up and I don't know how to fix them.

    That sounds awesome! I just got a 1080ti to go with my 980ti. Now I have cuda envy again!

    Your setup should be pretty fast. You've got quite a lot of cores 6400 I think.  I'll have 2560 X3 or 7680.  I'm not sure if my setup will be noticably faster or not.  My current rig has (2) GTS-450 or 384 cores total.  It will be like night and day.

    the forum is a PITA as it has a different unchoosable password I keep losing!!!

    I can and have chosen my own rememberable customer ID one to download and activate it, I used random unrelated words and numbers with amybe  a associated phrase to remember

    for example Eggs6houseguitarfrosty (not one of mine)

    but the forum one unchoosable
