SOLVED Why would part of a figure be visible in a render, and another part not?

I render a figure in DAZ Studio (not using iRay). When I look at it in the Viewport I can see the figure and the hair, but when I render it, the figure is gone and I get only the hair rendered? In Parameters I have VISIBLE and VISIBLE IN RENDER on.

Too close to the camera? there is some kind of a cut off plane.
Does unfitting the hair help? I know other people have had similar issues but I can't recall the fix (or if there was a real fix).
I deleateed the hair entirely, but the figure still will not show up in the render. It's very frustrating.
Yikes! I switched the DAZ Studio render engine to IRAY and the figure renders. Why would it render with IRAY and not 3Delight?
Try re-applying the skin material.
Also I have no idea how it might have been turned on, but the UberSurface shader has a Fantom setting which I know can make something not render even though it's visble in the viewport
Thanks for your help. I reapplied the texture, and for the 3Delight render engine I clicked the DEFAULT button. The figure still doesn't render.
I loaded a 2nd Genesis figure David5 and applied the texture Takeo that was invisible on the first character. The texture renders on David5, but not on my custom character. Same texture, different character - both Genesis.
UberSurface isn't a Render Tab thing, it's a Surfaces tab thing.
On the surfaces tab, select your figure. On the top of the tab, it should tell you which shader is being used.
If it says omUberSurface, then you need to scroll down to the Fantom setting and turn it off.
On the surfaces tab it says Shader: DAZ Studio default.
My custom figure isn't named Genesis. I named it the name of my character. Does a Genesis figure have to be named Genesis to show up in a render?
It doesn't seem to have to do with the texture. I applied a different Genesis texture to the figure, and it still didn't render - then I applied that same texture to the Genesis David 5 figure in the scene, and the texture rendered correctly.
It's invisible to the 3Delight renderer, but visible to the Iray renderer. What's the difference between the two render engines?
Nothing I did made the figure visible in a 3Delight render, so I loaded a new Genesis and reconstructed the character, one slider at a time. The new one renders fine.
Could you have inverted the normals on your custom figure?
I tried it, and i moved the sliders for all the other settings. The figure remained invisible in the render. Thanks anyway.
