Saving a Custom Character?

I make characters using some of or all of these in one character: DAZ figures and their morphs, morphs made for characters by published artists, GENX and legacy shapes. When I load one of these custom characters I've made, all the associated files for all of it are pulled from my runtime folders. If one of these files is misplaced or mislabeled, the figure won't load correctly.
Is there some way with DAZ Studio to make one of these customized characters and SAVE it as a self contained file, so that it doesn't have to load all the individual files from all the products?
Thanks!

Not entirely sure you can now at least in Daz Studio that I know of, in Poser though you sort of can by saving as a .cr2 but not sure it will do what you want it to do..
Is there a DAZ Studio equivalent of a .cr2?
You can export as .cr2 in Studio but not sure it will do it properly..
Ok I did a test and it sort of works but you do lose a lot of the functionality of that figure among other things not to mention that the saved file could end up being 100's of megabytes in size since the export process saves everything.. In my test the figure file ended up being 400 meg in size so just bare that in mind if you decide to do this..
But in all honesty saving custom characters this way is time consuming, harddrive consuming and a pain in the rear..
Thanks for testing it out! When you say it loses functionality, what do you mean?
Well for one when importing the figure back I got a lot of errors about missing weightmaps, also well looking at it the functionality is there just not where you were used to it being since the export process puts it into a form that Poser knows all about..
Case in point you load a normal G1, G2, G3 figure and go to the shaping tab you will find each body section has its own section, looking at the .cr2 and none of that is there the morphs are still there just a lot harder to find..
I myself do not use this method since it is time consuming and a lot more hassle than it is worth, also it is a harddrive eater to boot..
Clearly, the PAs must have a good method of doing it, since they package their wares for upload the daz.
You could apply your morph then export your shape as an object file - bring it back into to studio with morph loader pro & save as a support asset - You then have a slider for your character
The downside of this way is you lose all the JCMs so you might get some unexpected results at times especially with extreme shapes and with all the Daz morphs baked in you would not be able to share your creation other than as an image.
The other way is to save as a character preset but that stores the values of all the original files so misplaced files could still cause you a problem
I'll try it and see what happens. Thanks!
Does DAZ Studio have some kind of script that lists all the files for whatever is in the viewport? Or list (printable) all the parameter settings for a character? If I can print a list of files, I can locate them, and put them all in one folder, and then have the character reference the files from there.
This utility seems to do what you want: https://www.daz3d.com/content-gatherer
That's EXACTLY what I was looking for! Thank you so much!
There is no way to make a self contained file. Unless the content is moved or deleted there is no reason why saved character presets will not load. Same with saved scenes and other such files.
