Hair... amoung other tings
I recently started using Daz3d, I've also gotten Hex 2.
The problem is she shapes I transfer to modify with Hex 2 not becoming the same item type before the original transfer.
For instance Hair..
1. I bring some hair into the sceen with Daz3d, I verify that I can do any hair color I want to from Materials for instance. I send the hair to Hex 2 using Bridge.
2. I play around with the shape, lengths etc... when done I transfer it back to Daz3d using bridge.
3. In Daz3d I have done it several ways, using another figure, and using the Transfer Utility The hair item bonds to the figure, but I the program no longer seem to think it is hair. Even those I chose Hair in The transfer utility. I can't color it for instance. I go to materials, and hair color does not show up.
4. I've done it a different way trying to use normal hair in Daz3d, and using the transfer utility on that instead of a figure. Same, the program does not know it's hair.
5. Ive tried geometry and Convert to SubD... no good.
What I want to be able to do is take an object in Daz3d, any object... modify it... and bring it back into Daz3d with all the original properties... Obviously there is a way to do it, others do all the time. I've searched for tutorials... no good.
HELP! I'm going nuts!

If you want to change the shape, as a morph, you need to avoid any actions in Hexagon that add or remove geometry - the only allowed actions are moving the existing vertices around. If you change the geometry you will have to make a new figure (using the Transfer Utlity) or prop (just parenting the static mesh) and create new presets, assuming that the UV mapping is valid and the texctures still fit. Modifying an existing item to make a new figure or prop is fien for your own use but cannot be shared, as a model, with others.
Thanks very much.
Are there instructions anywhere (ie... step by step) for creating original content? I have not been successful in my searching as of yet.
