Any table top gamers here? Looking for collaborators for a daz art gaming project.

I'm working on a board game, and the art is created using daz. I am looking for some people who are into tabletop games and might like to kick around some ideas.

What kind of board game? I've been a table top gamer of different kinds since before Columbus (or at least it feels that way)

I too am intrigued, what type of board game we looking at? I've put together some art work before for a board game I had been working on, got stuck on some of the mechanics that I never got past though so shelved it all.

...while I tend to work with more with Tabletop (P&P) RPGs, be interesting to know the details.

  • I played a little WarHammer 40k. I also played several WW2 and WW3 tabletop scenarios, really big battles with miniatures and train sets, etc. I dont know what the rule sets were but they were fun to play. It was a long time ago but id still be interested possibly.

Like Kyoto Kid, I'm more of a TTRPG-er than board games, but I'd still be interested to know more.

I have no friends, so actually playing tabletop games isn't an option, but I do find them interesting.  I love watching Wil Wheaton's Tabletop on Youtube, they play all kinds of tabletop games, and it's always fun.

Not true. Most cities have some kind of meetup for gaming (rpg, boardgames, collectible cards). I regularly play games all day saturday with people I don't like.

I had hoped to have more luck moving to the Bay Area but everything I've seen is generally an hour+ commute. Bah

Basically I am hoping to create a board game that mixes in some rpg and ccg elements. My preferred genres are superheroes and dark investigation (ala xfiles, call of Cthulhu). The board would be the map of the scenario and the cards would represent random elements that aid or hinder your mission.

Ideally this is a rules lite ttrpg that mixes in some random elements but has an achievable goal and can be replayed.

I'm interested in building a game by committee -- basically a group of people who create an open source system. Not because we can do it better but because doing it would be fun. We could each make suggestions on what would be cool. I would sort of like to keep it genre agnostic so that it is adaptable.

Working on mechanics together would be part of it. I can picture play testing in virtual game table where we throw up our custom made cards of creatures artifacts characters events etc and the beauty is that people get to surprise each other with cards that no one has seen. Of course there would be the ability to call bs on a card that is too powerful.

Well we could start throwing out ideas for a scenario to use as a sandbox for testing. I like people trapped In a mysterious place, others might like a creepy small town...there's plenty of latitude

I think im going to decline. My ideas are pretty much all ive got and I keep them close (just in case I ever decide to do something with them:)). However, when you get to the point that your ready for play testing, totally count me in.

Knowledge is power, guard it well!

Na, happy to share ideas and info. lf someone else can take somethig from anything I share, combine it with whatever else, run with it and come up with a usefull end product. Yay.

Are you planning on organizing this from a Daz 3D Forums, Commons thread?

well this is a place of like minded people. If you go into a game forum you pretty much get flamed for asking questions even. There's a lot of game snobbery! People here are helpful and innovative. To me that is the most fertile soil to work in.

Eventually we would probably need to throw a google doc together but this is a good thread to share ideas in since most of my ideas come about from visuals.

Well, sheesh! If you guys are going to keep it in the forum, im definetely going to keep tabs on this. And, yes, ill probably throw in some ideas. Cthulhu definetely for my vote. Super Hero themed would be cool as well. But horror is my strong point.

Euros refers to games made in Europe, mostly Germany.

You would maybe be better moving this to the Art Studio,  where it is far less likely to get buried.

So the initial compromise there would be a creepy small town where the heroes gather their thoughts, maybe purchase some buffs before finding themselves trapped in a mysterious place to escape from to get back to creepy small town and investigate why they were thrown into said mysterious place while purchasing more buffs/goodies to add to their loot haul from mysterious place before another event thrusts them into another mysterious place to escape from.......and so on and so forth - each mysterious place offering clues towards their investigations in the creepy small town......

Okay, maybe not but a collaboration, tossing ideas around and crafting a gaming system sounds like it'll be a LOT of fun!

If you are looking to make your own game, I would suggest this site. They provide alot of resources and are great for prototyping and print on demand production

    https://www.thegamecrafter.com/

I have a game I made there, and a deck of cards as well

    https://www.thegamecrafter.com/games/dead-end-the-zombie-apocalypse

    https://www.thegamecrafter.com/games/hex-dex-521

  • So maybe we need to organize some structured approach to how we go about this? That way we just arent barraged with a forum full of lose ideas thatll get disorganized really quickly?
