Using DAZ for anamorphic pictures

DAZ can be used to create anamporphic pictures. I developed a workflow for making such pictures by using Gel Light (thank you mjc1016 for introducing me to Gel Light). Here are the essentials for making a floor picture to be viewed from a standing position.

1. Create the 3D scene.

2. Put a camera in the viewing position (height 160cm and a certain designed distance) and render the scene

3. Create a primtive plane in the plane of the floor and hide all scene objects.

4. Put a Gel light in the camera position (and orientation) using the rendered image (from step 2) to create a projection of it on the floor plane

5. Render the projection from top view. This is the final render which can be printed and displayed IRL (on the real floor).

The attached picture is an example made with this technique. I hope that some of you will find this interesting, and maybe even useful.

Your picture is broken, or so it would seem.

Here is another attempt to post the picture. It seems that now it is OK.

  • This sounds more like Isomorphic Projection, it's not Anamorphic Lens simulation.
