Lip Settings

Just purchased a new figure and it really occured to me that a LOT of the daz models appear as if they have had lip injections.  So many that thinning the lips has become as habitual as adding cornea bulge.  There are some models; however, that no matter what I do, the lips simply don't seem to ever look natural.

I was wondering if anyone has any settings, or formula they go through in dealing with the lip problem?

Not really since I don't consider it a "problem". The 200 plus morphs in the store add a few more lip parameters that help with thinner lips. If it is something you do/use often, you can save that specific area as a shaping preset and then right click on it and create a custom action so you have quick access to it

Yeah. For 90% of my characters I drastically thin out the lips. I think that many of the artists can get a bit too extreme with the lip plumpness. To me, thinner lips can help add a bit more realism to the characters.

I created this character with the SimTenero Randomizer but as it was sampling from about 12 different bought Daz characters the lips, as usual, came out pretty big. I had to morph them down quite a bit.

That's a really nice render Diva!

Good suggestion FSMC,  I haven't used shaping presets much at all, and forget that they are there.

On a similar vein most all the models need breast reduction as well, but there are plenty of tools and items in the Daz store to fix that particular problem.  wink

Thank you! :) And the shaping preset sounds like a cool idea. I've not thought of that. I didn't know you could save a shape preset for only the lips. I'm going to have to try that. :)

Another trick that's good to try if the lips are REALLY big is to "turn off limits" under the "Lip Lower Size" and "Lip Upper Size" mouth morphs. That lets you get them as thin as you need to.
