Skin Builder Pro Question

Can someone kindly tell me in layman's term what skin builder is all about? And is it worth it? I've seen a thread about skin builder for enemies 3 and a lot of people seem to be excited about it so I'm wondering what is exciting about this product and if it is worth it?

It's a tool for building custom skin textures - you can adjust the tone of the skin by picking from several bases and then adding a tint, and you can add details like freckles and brows on top of that. It provides more options than a basic character set in one product.

...there is a new SBP coming out for G3F (hopefully in the net couple weeks) so if that is the figure you are working with it's best to wait as the original only works on Genesis and G2F.  The new version will also work in both Iray and 3DL and has some other changes that make it work better and saved skins load faster.

Agreed though, SBP is a very nice tool to have and much better for the workflow.  For example it took me an evening to get a realistic albino skin whereas just doing so with a base fair skin texture and messing with shader channels took me about a week total.

Zev0 posted an update on release date. Looks like it'll be after March:

    It'll be worth the wait.

I've tried changing the skin to tan and it seems to have made the skin worse and less detailed? I'm not really sure how to use it. Is there any tutorial vids?

Check and see if they included a read me file. That's where it would be.  And if you look at the skin settings, you will see that there are several different  layers.  Some of those layers are under the skin  They should not all be the same, You will have to play aroud a bit to get what you want.  the main color of the skin is the first color bar and then you can give it blue or pink undertones using the others.  Or orange or whatever colors you like.  You will have to experment a bit. I usually write down what my steps so if I need to back up I can. (I write the color numbers down for each bar).  If I get a chance I will try and do some screen shots for you tomorrow.  We have heavy winds and storms tonight and I just barely got my laptop recharged from the outages early this morning.  Its bedtime here, I will be at work all day but will try and put something together for you when I get a break.

@unknownmystery445    Okay sorry I haven't forgotten you! So here is the main skin screen.  I usually move the sliders for pale, light, medium and dark depending on what skin tone I am going for.  This is really just trial and error, there are so many variables.  Then I picked a basic tan color.  I am rendering the skin now.  Keep in mind the picture in the view port is NOT what the skin will look like rendered.  It looks shiny and fake in the viewport, you have to render to see the real color and tone.

So the only color I changed was the top strip to the tan you see in the second picture the skin tint picture.

As you can see in the viewport the skin looks very shiny

And the last one is the actual render which looks considerably different than the view port

So I went in this next one and changed the second line down, the velvet color from blue to a rose pink.

Its not a big change but it does add some warmer undertones.

And here she is in purple.  Just for the fun of it. Ignore the graininess, I stopped it before it was done
