In direct violation of the TOS rules and possibly TNG rules too... Maybe even DS9 as well...
I present...
ONE BARE NIPPLE...
It's a big one too... 2" x 4"... Black steel baby...
I would have made it a pair, but I needed the other one to fix the steam pipes.
Besides... Just one is probably more enticing... Makes you wonder where the other one is off to.
EDITED TO ADD...
MORE NIPPLES! ITS NIPPLEMANIA!
A pair... The left one is a bit lopsided... But sometimes nature is asymmetrical.
Whats more exciting then a partly exposed nipples?
Okay... I need to get some sleep and stop photographing naked pipes...
...

...hmm, looks like we need some pasties here.
+1
Correct. I'm not suggesting that adult content be posted here, only a sub-category for addressing adult content isues (like you wrote). As was suggested above, there are tons of places to go to see adult content and a handful of sites that specialized in selling poses, props, characters, etc. Wasn't suggesting DAZ does that.
While my 30% wasn't based on a study, it wasn't just pulled out of the air. It was based o observation and being involved with other DAZ community members. I was being a bit conservative with my assessment as I too believe that is on the lower side of real number.
With Adobe now getting into the game with Felix, the space is about to become more diluted. Every little bit that makes using DAZ easier helps.
Thanks for all the feedback. Interesting subject apparently
Wait... Europeans have museums full of porn?
Cooool...
All we have is Porn Depot... And that doesn't completely reflect the full and complex history of porn.
Actually, there used to be a couple, but the one in France was shut down due to lack of customers, and so did the Berlin one. But the one in Amsterdam is still open, if yu want to make a visit someday (link is worksafe and childsafe) http://www.amsterdam.info/museums/erotic-museum/
OTH, Vegas also has one, which appears to be doing pretty good (link is also worksafe and childsafe, as museums are serious business, after all). http://www.eroticmuseumvegas.com/museum/
Well, Iceland has a penis museum, so..
The best we're likely to get is a more generic how to use geografts thread, which will generally apply to the anatomical elements. Materials for them are pretty much going be governed by whether thw PA that creates a character wants to make them or the intended age of the character.
Uhh... you do know there are museums just like the "European" museums in the US too right?
This is true, there is one in Las Vegas (go figure.) But how many are located in the Bible Belt?
This topic reminds me of the debate surrounding the Robert Mapplethorpe photography exhibit. It was supposed to be at the Corcoran Gallery, but sensitivities got in the way. It was shown at the Washington Project for the Arts (WPA) instead. The WPA had its core exhibtion area where his mainstream photography was displayed. It was amazing! The WPA also had a separate section, clearly labeled, where his most controversial works were exhibited, including some gay porn and ant-Christian imagery - which were also amazing photography. Anyone who might be offended by photos of male genitalia that were clearly designed to stimulate the libido for purient interest (often elements of the definition of obscenity) or religious commentary knew which room to avoid.

I think the OP is just asking for a separate area of the website, clearly labeled, where adult content is welcome. Not unreasonable.
However, my personal preference is Daz's current business model. The site limits its purient interest to what I would consider PG-13. Sex still sells here, but the low-brow Las Vegas Adult Video News Awards type porn and the high-brow Robert Mapplethorpe type porn are both excluded. Other websites offer places for that content. That way, I can link to the Daz website without concern for the sensitivities of most people that I would share the link with. I can visit other sites for other content. Hadn't considered city ordinances about adult business content. Daz is in Utah, after all, but I don't know local laws in its town.
The point about violence is an interesting one that I think there might be a generational difference. I grew up on a distinction between inoffensive and offensive violence similar to the distinction between mature sexual content and porn. The Three Stooges, Wyle E Coyote, Bugs Bunny, various Vincent Price horror movies, and most Westerns were very violent. But, it was not serious violence, and therefore not considered offensive. Movies like The Wild Bunch and a Clockwork Orange were a different kind of intense violence and were considered for more mature audiences. I get the sense that the violence in current children's video games may be more intense than the faux violence of my youth.
Hey, you read this far? Thanks. Bored on a Monday morning. are you? I'm going to keep rambling. I remember the Robert Mapplethorpe exhibit because the WPA was a block from my old office. A group of us went over during lunch. That whole neighborhood (now called Penn Quarter) has been completely transformed. I think the WPA space on 7th Street, NW is now Hill Country BBQ, which is a tribute to the food and music of the Texas Hill Country. Hill Country is highly recommended if you visit DC.
I remember back in 2000-2001, loading the DAZ3D site at work. I got in trouble a few times because my boss came by and saw all the nude models in the store. I'm glad DAZ decided to eliminate the nude pictures. Oh, and I've since retired.
Remembering when my sister worked for a museum (we saw the the Mapplethorpe exhibit), she had this enormous photo of a Jeff Koons work (Mr. Koons and his then wife were having x-rated married time graphically). She no loger noticed it but every new visitor gulped and said "oh my".
I only discovered DAZ in 2004 so there might have been nudes before then but I certainly don't remember seeing any since 2004. However, I would never have viewed the site at work anyway (I'm also retired now). That's not because I am offended - quite the contrary, I think DAZ is supremely hypocritical with the nudity policy - but just because at a glance it looks like a glamour model site to anyone casually passing my desk.
In the privacy of my own home, I have no objection to nudity so long as there are warnings and the landing page is not like a porn mag centrefold. I do agree with the OP that DAZ should not ignore the fact that a big chunk of their income comes from erotica, like it or not (and I'm sure they would not like to lose that income).
Unfortunately these sites quickly get taken over by the extreme or fringe elements. Titillating, sweet and sexy, tasteful nudes and other mainstream adult pastimes become inundated by mounds of horrific stuff that makes my flesh crawl. I've been a member of many (all of them) adult Poser/Daz sites over the years and they've all become venues for the sickest, weirdest, strangest, most horribly gore drenched, abusive and defame, messed up stuff you can imagine.
I'd love a site that could keep the 'bizarro's' out.
LOL- I'm originally from Reston! I know Northern VA very well!
No problem with nudity at all in art, the human body is beautiful and nothing to be ashamed of. I render stuff while my small kids are awake and keep it family friendly. Occasionally they see a naked character and say, "Hey Mom! I can see his butt!" I don't make a big deal about it. I have them help me choose clothes for the figures and just carry on as normal. No biggie.
But I definitely don't want to be accidentally stumbling across porn images in the forums or elsehwere, either at home or at work. Too much explaining to do! "Hey Mom, what are they doing?" No thank you! Though I think it's actually harder to avoid the gory stuff (which I also don't want to expose my kids to) than the adult stuff. Not having TV helps, but the internet is a whole different beast.
In my early days, I had very little money. That's why I did so many nude renders. Over the years I had more money, and all my people wore clothes! I can't remember the last time I made a nude picture.
And yet if you look at their site ranking numbers, you might notice something, as I have. DAZ3D is ranked at 10,500 (approximately) on Alexa.com, whereas Renderosity is at something like 26,000 on the same site, and other similar sites are lower than Renderosity. Part of it is likely due to the family friendly nature of the site, and other factors that folks don't often consider, like how quickly pages load on slow internet connections, etc.
Shocking, McGyver! Just shocking! LOL
Or it could have something to do with Daz being the creator of the software it sells content for, along with being the largest store for Daz content, and the most sales on Daz content. Just maybe...
Lets review some of the top Alexa ranked sites in the world.
Twitter has outright pornographic content. It is ranked in the top 20. Nearly everybody has a Twitter account, including every major public figure. And so do porn stars. Interesting.
Reddit prides itself on protecting free speech. Imagine that, FREE SPEECH. While that is fantastic, that sadly means there are numerous hate groups there, and lots of porn. Lots and lots of Porn. Yet Reddit is in the top 25, and is also one of the most influential websites in the world with its AMA series and news sections. Even the former POTUS has done an AMA on Reddit! So they allow erotic content and still got the most powerful person in the world on their site.
Amazon sells erotic products. Did you know that? It sure hasn't hurt its site ranking, and Amazon has its teeth in nearly every facet of many people's lives.
Then there are Tumblr and of course, an actual porn site, called PornHub, rounding out the top 50 Alexa ranked sites.
It sure doesn't seem like adult content hurt these sites traffic. Many people don't even know some of these sites have adult content, and that is thanks to their filters. That is why filters exist, LOL.
This reminds me of when I just started working for a Gas Fitting company. I was starting as a pipefitter (although, at the time I didn't know that's what it was called). My first trip with the owners son to the supply store. He's standing at the counter talking to the girl who's behind the counter and says, "I'd like 6 1' nipples." I almost died! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA A few months later, after I had gotten used to all the terminology (and been sufficiently dosed with lead from the pipedope that's used on the joints), I started to secretly take an inner, perverse pleasure in ordering stuff like that. Yes, my life was (and still is) lame... hehe
I find it unfortunate that I have to go to other sites to get proper modeled tits.
I mean, heck, look at that pair of great tits!!
But Daz apparently isn't comfortable having that kind of content here.
We're so going to get this thread locked soon....
Boobies!!!
.
Old days..... what old days....... :)
Family friendly..... hahaha..... well, it was Family friendly when I was growing up..... that's how I got my food..... though
of course I can't remember anything about it..... :)
My Dad worked as a machinist with the railway in Canada. I have many precious memories of my Dad taking me on a tour of the Diesel Shop where the locomotives were repaired, by him and others, and sometimes the drydock where massive ships were being refitted and such. It was better than Star Trek for a kid of 11 years old.
And working at home he had so many tools.... so the terms nipple, male and female plugs, etc., make me smile, then and now, from the simple gratitude of having a Dad like him.
Gee, I am way off topic, and so darn sentimental today..... :)
