Area Render or Partial Render

  So if Poser Area Render means, only render section where you decide in 3d View, change current tool ,  as "Spot Render"

  (Need to open "tool setting" tab if your layout not show the "spot render" tool, )

  then drug in 3d viewport , as border, then DS only render bordered arear.

  Or use iray  "Area section plane" to divide scene by  virtual section planes (for Iray only I think) in 3d View.
