Iray: best map for heavy crease in surface?
I'm working on a piece of leather, so it has both a bump map and a normal map providing texture.
I wish to have a very heavy crease line runing thru it, as if it has been been folded and reflattened...still the same shape, but there'd be big distortion..a puckering in the suurface.
How best to achieve this?
With add the crease lines to the normal? Add a distortion map? both? all?

The main question is, how much geometry do you have to work with for tha area?
If the crease should be really heavy, itś best to try a deformer with a long and thin base. But as Bee mentioned, it depends on the geometry of the surface. If the geometry is not dense enough, you should convert to SubD first and raise the SubD level.
I've never messed with subD...how do I work with that?
