Freebie Stuff and where to put them
Ok there are many freebie models and stuff out there but how to I get them to where I can use them in Daz3D? I have tried placing the files in folders where they should go but when I open up Daz and try to find them...nothing..is there a special uploader that needs to be used. I want (for example all my freebie clothing to be accessed with the clothing and props I purchased....I am sure it is easy but since I am so new I must just be over looking something.

Manually isntalled content will appear only under Daz Studio Formats/Poser Formats/Other Import Formats in the Content Library pane unless/until you categorise it - it won't appear in Smart Content, nor will it appear in the Content Library under Categories or Products, nor will it appear in the presets tab of a parameter pane. So the first thing to do, if you haven't already, is to check to see if the content is showing there, and if it loads.
The best way to set up freebies (in my opinion) is to start by putting them into your own personal library so that you can check out if it's really something you want to keep around. Everything which Richard said above still applies here. Then, once you decided, it might be an idea to move it into your main Daz library. You can find the physical locations of everything by checking the settings (f2 -> content tab -> "Content library manager" button), but my personal favorite is to simply use the content library pane (important feature!) and when in the right spot right click and then use the "Browse to File location" option.
And when you got your contents settled then I think this is an awesome tutorial which explains how to get 3rd party material (such as freebies) into your smart content pane:

It can most definitley take some some before you sorted your whole stuff out but it's very rewarding when done right.
Hope this can also help.
Make sure that you don't have any nested folders as well. Depending on the freebie you have to sometimes take a good look at the folder structure. sometimes you end up with a runtime inside of a runtime or something strange like that.
