Check my 'Massive DO Blowout' math? Sale bug? [Fixed]

Greetings,

Let's pick something relatively easy.  Some Medical Scrubs.  The base price is $24.95.  As a Platinum Club member, I get 40% off with the new sale.  So that's $14.97.  Without a new item purchase, I get 30% more off because of the sale.  That's $10.48.  Sure enough, that's the price that shows up on the store page.

The problem is that it's _supposed_ to bump to 50% off of the $14.97 number with purchase of a new release.  That would be $7.48/$7.49, depending on which way the store wants to round this moment.

Instead it's showing up as $8.73.  I can't actually figure out why...is my DAZ math off, or is there a bug with the sale?

I agree it's not working as expected for PC members, I tried a bunch of stuff in the cart and decided that you weren't actually getting the 40% discount just the normal 30%.

Yea, looks like the extra 10% (30% > 40%) for PC members isn't applied.

  • We have sent in a query about this.

  • Not quite get-them-out-of-bed level, then? ;-)

i was wondeirng about that... and what is stranger, it says 40% off, but the stuff like M7, monique 7, etc shows as 58% off alreadsy. DAZ sales are always way too confusing.
And why does the email say up to 70% off and everyone gets up to 50% off ... and PC+ members are getting 30% off and 40% if you buy a new release?

Does nopt maske any sense, plus it isnt working

  • PC+ members (are supposed to now) get 40% off , and then the 50% off (with new purchase) that everyone gets. That makes 70% .

It makes sense but isn't working.

  • Also, there's a contradiction typo on the sale page.

In one place it says PC+ items aren't included in the legacy section, and in another place it doesn't say so.

PC+ items are actually included and discounted, so yay.

I have an issue as well.  There is an item listed as a PC+ item, but not a DO, so it is not getting the added discounts from this sale.  How is that possible?

Showing up as 7.49 for me now. I think they fixed it. :)

Yep.....I've had the same thing, Morgan!

I've tried a different combo of items and the numbers are not adding up right

The e-mail is surely confusing when it says one thing, and shows up different on the sale page.

    Hopefully they straiten it out

I tried a couple of items, and this is how I see it, right now. For PC+ members, you get the bump from 30% to 40% okay. The extra 30% for everyone also seems okay for a total of 42% (0.6 * 0.7) of the original (shows as 58% discount everywhere on DO's for PC+ members, 30% for non-members).

Adding a new item should give 30% of the original (0.6 * 0.5, or 0.6 * 0.7 * (0.5 / 0.7)), or 70% off, as advertized on the banner (PC+ members get up to 70% on DAZ originals), but it actually works out to 65% off (as if the base for the second discount was 40% off instead of 30% off, i.e., 0.6 * 0.7 * (0.5 / 0.6) = 0.35).

https://www.daz3d.com/gobbles-go-go-gobbles-poses is not included in the Featured Legacy Daz Originals category. It is an item that was brought over from Runtime DNA. A big group of those are PC+ items (and still PA items owned by PAs) but are not Daz Originals. That way they are made available at PC+ pricing for PC+ members but as they are not Daz O’s, they are not then affected by deep discounts during sales like today’s sale.

I was typically winding up with 72%-78% off for DO items in the sale.  For some reason the Elverado Outfit was coming out to 84% off though.  Since I long ago picked up the freebie textures for it, I finally picked it up (The thing has tenaciously avoided good sales until now).

    Edit: I'm PC+

How can you be a PC+ item and NOT a Daz Original?
And this item is not a "brought-over" RDNA item, as it has been in the Daz store like, forever.
Are there any other such items as Ive never heard of such a thing?

    Greetings,

    Yay!  It's fixed!

@MJ007 There used to be a lot of PC items that weren't DO's.  There was a problem, of some sort, with doing buy-outs of folks who were both PA's and PC administrators.  (Specifically I think Lisa's Botanicals fell into this category, which is why they all went away when she left the store.)  So the items never became DO's. (Because...I'm not sure...I think it was something to do with essentially having a PC administrator guiding the buyout of a product they themselves developed.)

That said, in all my explorations of the store, I've somehow never managed to come across 'Gobbles' before. O_o¡  I don't know if the above explanation suffices for that item, but others definitely fell into that category.

As someone thats been contemplating purchasing the Gobbles and their poses for years, im 101% certain this has been a PC+ item, and not a RDNA migrated item.  I honestly never noticed if it were a DO or not as ive never seen a PC+ item that wasnt a DO.  I actually thought i purchased them the last time I was in PC+, but apparently, I did not; and once i saw this sale, with the discount for getting into PC+, thought it was a GREAT time to correct that mistake... then i noticed this anomaly.

Actaully there were quite a few of the original PC items that were not DOs, which was why LisaB could take her entire back catalogue wih her when she moved sites.

Well about 98% off it anyway, there were one or 2 items which were buy outs.
