Dredging this up from the bowels of history, lol.

I may possibly be able to use the OBJ ones, assuming Turbosquad will let me make an account...

I'm using Daz Studio, not whatever 3ds is, lol.

Also I was hoping for something more like a Xbox/Playstation controller (gamepad). Tho the Nintendo one may work, assuming it's Polygons play well with Studio.

If you want to do a bit of kit bashing, there is a poseable joystick in this set:

OK, here is a complete game kit including a gamepad similar to what you have pictured:

That is almost a "Hell yes"... I don't see Studio listed as 'compatible' (Poser only), and thus I have a tad bit of hesitation spending money on it.

Poser 9 vs Daz Studio 4.8??? When did that scripted shader stuff get broken? (It was way before my time)

EDIT, I must run, thanks for the ideas. I'll check them out later on when I get back. Thanks.

I suspect that if you are using 3Delight (and not Iray) to render that it will be useable

If you click on the 'Read Me' link and read down you will find that the installation instructions include both Poser AND DAZ Studio

    INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
    -------------------------------------------------------------

    For Poser:

Run Winzip or another Zip-program into your Poser directory.
All files will be placed as shown below from the files
    included list.

For DAZ Studio 3 or 4:

Run Winzip or another Zip-program into your Content directory.

Also the author's website suggests. that it may be DAZ Studio compatable:

If you are particularly concerned you could use the contact us tab on his website to ask.

I own that set and it works find in 4.8 using 3DE , iray you'd have to do some tweaking.

Thanks for the info. I had looked for the contact thing briefly at renderosity, and didn't see it (It's been a while). I was also unaware that the PA had an independent website/blog. Thanks.

Yea, I'm still using 3delight, Iray is still beyond my computer's "lacking GPU". Still, That Iray reminder is a good to know bit, as it dose predate Iray and probably has not been updated with Iray surfaces. Not to say, some stuff made for Poser only, only has surface settings for Cycles (Or whatever it is Poser has), and dose not work at all in 3delight, let alone Iray (A few hair styles come to mind, that I keep seeing used on Promos in the Daz store, lol).

Thanks Vhardamis, I have gotten a allot of stuff from other places made for Poser (Some free some not), That I thought I could make work in 3delight/Studio, and it didn't. Your vote of confidence with Studio, would probably do well as feedback on the product page. I looked at the reviews, and the one review did not mention Daz Studio, and it didn't help my doubts any. lol.

EDIT. wow, Rendorosity has really changed the page layout. It's in the cart... Now I just need to find the cart to check out, lol. Yep, it use to be on the top right of the page, and now it's missing, lol.

Odd. It still is at the top right in the black bar for me. But try clicking where your name is at the right of the black bar.

I've done that a couple of times myself. Purchsed Poser items I thought would work only to realise too late they are the older file version so things like the the MAT files you cant get to work in 4.5 and up. I've gotten practice at replacing my textures with shaders thank to that.

And good idea. i'll head over and leave a reveiw.

Well, I've yet to try the other stuff, tho it looks like the Poser-only Surface settings have struck again with the game controller, lol.

Aiyana - Is it supposed to be glowing like that!? Mom! I wanted a Play Station, not leftovers from Chernobyl.

  • Well, it looks like some maps are included in the product, and just not used by Studio for some reason.

It will take a bit of time to hunt down all the maps and put them into the proper channels. The joy of guessing what map is supposed to be where, lol. Some fussing with the stock settings may also be necessary as well. Don't forget to save it as a 'Material Preset' when your done, for future use.
