Bowling Lounge Slow to Use

I just purchased Bowling Lounge at agreat price with the current discounts. What a beautiful set but very resource intensive. My little GTX 970 can't seem to handle it very well and it is so slow to render that it is very difficult for me to set it up in Iray. I tried Esmay's Texture reducer and it took an hour just to reduce all the textures.

Are there any other suggestions for getting faster previews for this and other sets like it that exceed the 4GB Vram of my GTX 970?

The texture reducer runs very fast for me - UNLESS I am doing an Iray preview in the viewport at the same time.

Thanks. That is a definite help.

I had been running the texture reduction script in Iray preview. Running with texture shaded in the viewport definitely improved the time to reduce the textures. Instead of an hour it took about 3 minutes for the reduction plus several more minutes for changing from Iray preview to texture shaded and then back to Iray preview. After reducing the textures working in Iray preview mode was still kind of pokey but at least it was workable

You can run the texture reducer again to further reduce the textures of items far from the camera. If it helped the first time, it might help again to reduce them further. Are there any off camera parts you could delete from the scene?

You could also remove any bump/specular/normal maps from items that in the far background, as it is unlikely you would notice any difference compared to using them.
