UV Swap G3M -> G3F & Anatomy Question

Dear Forum members,

This question is more of solving a minor annoyance/imperfection than a real issue. Maybe somebody from the community has already solved this...

I've got a skin from a G3M which I want to use on a G3F, which works great with sloshwerks UV Swap. This gives a great result and is really useful out of the box.

What I noticed and is only a minor annoyance: the nipple texture is slightly stretched so it's more oval and looks kind of weird. Additionally, the genitalia part is weird. As there is no material, I can't use the G3F gens anatomy. I now used the EJ Valerie morph, which somehow shapes the section a little bit but still looks kind of weird.

Now, I'm wondering if there is a way to correct these points? (thinking of re-draw nipple section in a paint tool to correct it as a custom texture (and bump ?) or trying to "create" a matching one for the genitalia section but it seems to much try & error for something I hide under layers clothes...)

Best regards,

  • If it's going to be hidden do you need to correct it? On the nipples, I'm not sure if there are any morph packs that make them (or, I assume, the areolae) more or less elliptical which could be used to correct the appearance.

The nipple stretching is a known problem. The reason being is that the male mesh and the female mesh are slightly different in how they were constructed/modeled in those areas. There was a great gnashing of teeth, I can tell you, when we PAs got advanced copies of Genesis 3 Male, and we only had the Genesis 3 Female UV map to work with. The inherent difference in the meshes carries over, even when the UV map is converted for one or the other - which is why we have a UV map for Genesis 3 Males that is different than the UV map for Genesis 3 Females.

And as Richard pointed out, if this is something that is going to be covered up by clothing (I'm assuming clothing) and you won't be actually viewing the problem in your renders, then I don't see why you need to go to the extra hassle of trying to correct it (unless you're taking this as an opportunity to teach yourself some new skill - then by all means, tinker at will.)

If you were looking to doing partial nude renders, then I'd be right with you about trying to get this fixed. But since you've mentioned that those areas will be hidden, I'd leave it alone. Call it artistic license, or even artistic magic. You'll be the only one who knows what's going on under the clothes, not the people viewing your art, right?

There's a freebie over at Renderosity called "Torso UVs for G3F Anatomical Elements" that lets you use the figure's texture on the G3F geografted genitals. It's designed for use with the base female UVs, but a quick test says the base male UV is close enough that it still works.

    Hi Richard,
    Hi FeralFey,
    Hi Murgatroyd,

Thanks for your feedback and the insight. As these sections won't be visible in my renders, I don't have the need to get this fixed.
Still as a novice in the rendering area, I'll try to tinker around to learn something and see if I can get this "fixed" somehow.

@Murgatroyd: Thanks for the advice! I've tried it but I seem to have made a mistake while applying the shader: On the figure I got things like "Base Color" but on the Anatomical Element I only have "Diffuse" (which I don't have on the figure). SO I'm not sure if I made a mistake when applying the base subsurface shader (what should happen then ?). Result although is slightly colored differently, but better than expected.

Thanks a lot & best regards!

    Hi Murgatroyd,

I've solved my "Diffuse"/"Base Color" issue: The figure was using Iray Uber Shader while I applied the AoA Subsurface Shader to the Elements. Using the same shader of course improves the result.

    Thanks & best regards,
