D-former

Hi to everyone!

In the last month I enjoyed playing with D-former settings. It is really a great things, but it field is always a sphere.

Is there a way to huse other shapes as field for D-formers? Cubes, cylinder... maybe even an Human shape?

It would be great if I could use a Genesis figure, with all its poses, as a D-former field.

Maybe exporting it in OBJ format and importing it before using it?

So far as I know D-formers contain no geometry so thus cannot be exported.  Interesting idea about the different shapes but, for a D-former I think that may be impratical but ... there IS a product in the sore, by Sim-Tenero that applies a shape to a figure as a morph, so you could (I think!!!!!) have a G3M 'collide' with a wall and deform the wall with the G3M's shape.

  • Uhm... reeeally interesting. It is SimTenero Shape Reprojector, right?

It seem a little complicated respect to D-former, but very interesting. Thanks ^_^

Yes, that's the one, the name was eluding me until, strangely just about 5 minutes ago smiley  I have it, but not actually used it yet - I really, REALLY should give it a go!

  • You can customise the effect of a DForm by using a weightmap. Switch to the Node Weight paint Brush tool, then in Tool Settings with part of the DForm selected you should see Influnece Weights listed in Unusaed Maps - click Add Map and edit using the Node Weight Paint Brush and Geometry Editor.
