Can Hair for G3 be fit to G2?

Can you use G3 hair on G2, or G1 / V4 for that matter?  

I want to be able to use any hair on any figure, and am pretty stubborn about tweaking it until it fits.  Can I do the same with the G3 hair?

    It can with an Auto-fit plug-in. Genesis 2 doen't have one be default, but I'm pretty sure PA's like SickleYield have something in the works.

    Of course.  They are just hair props.  You have to just have to make adjustment for it fit nicely on to the head of whatever character you're putting them on.  The hair props probably have morphs for you to adjust.

    Great!  I saw a new hair for G3 that I really liked, and haven't taken the Victoria 7 plunge yet.  

     

    I saw your sig banner for Blender and visit your DeviantArt page - very nice work.  I am considering using Blender as a modeling tool.  Have you had experience importing/exporting to and from Daz Studio?

    Wouldn't that depend heavily on the fit morphs and adjustments provided by the hair designer?  I mean, clearly, retro-fitting for figures other than G3s is not anyone's priority :-(  That's where I really wish that Daz had comments on items, so we could see if someone else had already tried the sorts of things we'd all like to do.  I'd buy G3 hair, at least, if I could reliably make it fit Genesis or V4 without too much blood or tears shed...

    Parent hair to figures head.

    In the Parameter Tab, Zero the Trans and rotation values of the hair.

    Adjust and scale as desired.

    I also like to set collision to help the cap fit better.

    After you have done what Mattymanx said, you may find it useful to enable smoothing and have the collision check for whichever figure it is you're using. It sometimes helps with the scalp.

    I've had pretty good luck with fitting G3 Hair to G2, using the techniques outlined above. Those same techniques also apply to the V4 hair as well, such as the Dragonbriaid by Arki, for example.
