For MD, refer the official announcement at Steam http://store.steampowered.com/news/?appgroupname=Marvelous+Designer+(Personal)&appids=528100
Also, that version at Steam is not upgradeable.
On steam it states:
S O F T W A R E U P D A T E S
*Please note those who have Marvelous Designer 6 personal for Steam must purchase a new version since upgrade isn't available with the application. Patches and minor updates are provided free of charge with a Steam Perpetual license.
OK, thanks!
Got myself Affinity Designer it looks really cool and am going to download Krita Thanks for the recommendations .
Oops. I should probably not bought the 8 gb stick with Kubuntu on it, but it is too late now.
edit: I called Amazon and getting a refund once I return it Tuesday after my doctor's appointment.
I went to the Pattern Maker Pro site, and the video does show some patterns that it has in its library. Any way to look at its entire pattern library to see if they have what I need without signing up? Thanks.

slowly getting into the project red tools, to make mods for witcher 3.
I'd like to thank takezo_3001 and j Cade for recommending Krita - I'd never heard of it, but I went and hunted for it. I've only had chance to play a little, but it looks great!
I don't think so. The icons also don't show all the options either, you'd have to click into each pattern. Patterns have many choices like waistband, waistband with button, waistband with button loops, for a pair of pants plus options for lengths (shorter or longer skirts), sleeves/no sleeves. It'd be really hard to see everything without going into them all. If there's something very specific you want to know about you could contact them and ask.
Thanks for that info! I will ask them.
I have to mention the After Effects plug-in from Video Copilot: Element 3D.
It's worth every single dollar.
Yup, love that program. I have the 64 bit version and the improvements are great. If you notice there are allot of export options now for saving out UV Maps, your welcome! lol I wrote him and asked why he only supported PSD and BMP and suggested he add in JPG and PNG..... He did! He's a good man. BMP's are just so darned big. No reason for that.
There is also a kaleidoscope plugin in PSP. I've used a few times and has some decent controls!
where is that located? I must have missed that.
Here you go...
The problem with getting a 'Wow' feel across is that the whole thing is very personal. What impresses one might already have become pretty casual for another, and then you'll have a bit of a problem. Anyway, 3D rendering is only a hobby for me and even though I like to work on it I don't pursue it as heavily as my work within the digital audio field (which is more like a passion for me, but I also spend quite a bit more on that ;)).
Anyway... For me the 'Daz Trio' as I like to call it is still a pretty good 'wow' factor for me. Referring to Daz Studio, Bryce and Hexagon. I think it's amazing how well those programs can operate next to each other and how much you can learn from them. I've send plenty of props (including models) over to Hexagon to learn more about how they got set up and structured. Of course I'm more into modeling and posing than actually sculpting and texturing, so obviously my demands are lower on that field and Hexagon really fullfills my needs quite well.
Next is Luxus / Luxrender. Even though I normally use 3Delight I really enjoy the fiddling which Luxrender allows. That and all the extra options, such as setting up a scene and then getting a remote server to perform the actual render, that's a very slick set up I think and easily possible with Luxrender.
Finally The Gimp. It really takes getting used to and some things may not seem very logical, also because it works different in other software, but once you got the hang of things a little then it becomes quite fun to experiment with texturing (for me that only consists of editing & customizing existing textures).
...Gimp is my main "go to" 2D programme. Over the years I have become quite proficient with it. Yeah at first it seems a bit "wonky" compared to Photoshop but not as big of a contrast as say Blender is to Hexagon. The latest version supports .abr brushes and there are a lot of useful plugins available as well.
As to Reality/Lux. I have it, used to use it, however, the glacial rendering times as well as instabilities and compatibility issues with files created in older versions (including older "patches) with R4 became so frustrating to deal with, that I uninstalled it. Two months later, Iray was introduced here and while still slow (CPU mode as I have a very old GPU) I am not waiting upwards of a day or two (or more) for a clean image.
I agree on the "Daz Trio" and really wish they'd put more energy into further developing Hexagon and Bryce as they would have a very powerful suite of interconnected programmes each which is more dedicated to a specific role (Hexagon: modelling, Bryce: terrain and environmental creation, and Daz: morphing, posing, rendering) compred to what I refer to as the "Swiss Army Knife" 3D applications.
When you order PSP there is an option for a back up disk, which I believe was in the neighborhood of $10 extra. If you need to have both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions at once, the disk is the only way to get it. I still use the 32 bit for some very outdated filters that are 32 bit only.
Not quite a mandala maker, but in spirit of the thread, our own David Brinnen did a series of youtube tuts where he spends time faffing around, cutting holes in 3D objects, and making a variety of interesting shapes using the free modeller Wings 3d. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXeuFlDfPk4&t=25s

When did that change?
Haven't upgraded since X7 but I downloaded both 32 and 64 bit versions.
And while I'm here, Rebelle''s pastel painting ability is the most fun I've had with digital art since ... probably when I discovered Painter Essentials about 11 or 12 years ago.
thank you very much
Any time! :-)
